If the Phillips gets full, there's a Microtel around the corner. It's a little more expensive but there are options.

How far away will I be if I stay in Byrson City, from where everyone is meeting up at ?
Map says 20 miles, which is where I plan on stayiing if I can make it. I think the group is meeting at Robbinsville, but not sure ! If I make it, hope to see ya and ride to the group meet together

Hey Valium. Im from Waterloo Iowa I have been down there twice I have hauled my bike down there and thats what Im going to do this time. Im working on buying a trailer that might haul 3 or 4 bikes its not a done deal yet but I will let you know maybe we can work something out. Its about 900 miles from here could be a long cold ride from here if you get bad weather.
hooken, me and my son(GSXTacy) are planning on going on this trip. Perhaps you could hook up with him and meet me in southern Ill.

hmm, well I would recommend staying in Robbinsville or closer then 20 miles away but if you are in love with Bryson City, go for it

20miles doesnt sound like much but keep in mind, early mornings and after dark will probably still be chilly, we usually are up and gone by 9am or earlier, so if you are going to ride with the groups out to wherever in the mornings, you'll need to be up, on the road much earlier than us ... just food for thought. If there is a run to blood mnt as discussed, I suspect that group will be on the road by 8am. The ride to the dragon on 74/28 is a great one from Bryson City but I guess its all in how early you wanna get up and going

sounds like a good time. Anyone in the Midwest area riding down? I wouldnt mind sharing a room/floor - would be cool to go, but would be nice to meet up & ride with someone other than myself....long trip...not even sure how many miles from Minneapolis MN. Anyhow, if anyone doesnt mind an extra rider tagging along that would be cool. Also, not gonna have alot of cash so if someone has an extra floor/ room to share, let me know.

I am heading down, still need accommodations, and I'm on your way down south... Right at 39 & 80 in IL...

, but when you have a wife and she doesn't ride, Ya got to meet her shopping needs if you want to go. So she will be within driving distances of Cherokee and the Maggie Valley area. Thanks for your comments though, I guess I'll be getting up at 0530, turn on the "Ole" heated grips and be there by 0630 for Breakfast

No worries... its really only like 20mins
wink.gif
but you'd miss the fun around the camp fire, which really isnt to be missed. I totally understand about the wife wanting to go shop, but there's also the towns in TN across the dragon she could go to as well, and Pigeon Forge isnt tooo far either, probably the same as driving to Cherokee from Robbinsville and easily accessible from Cherokee as well... heck we might even make that run Thursday
cool.gif

Lots to do in the area besides being on the bike
cool.gif

Oh yeah... there's places in Robbinsville to eat breakfast.... but we always hit the CROT for some pancakes and sausage
