sounds like a good time. Anyone in the Midwest area riding down? I wouldnt mind sharing a room/floor - would be cool to go, but would be nice to meet up & ride with someone other than myself....long trip...not even sure how many miles from Minneapolis MN. Anyhow, if anyone doesnt mind an extra rider tagging along that would be cool. Also, not gonna have alot of cash so if someone has an extra floor/ room to share, let me know.

Hey Valium, there's a crew from the midwest making plans to head in.... and I know Hooken is coming in from NE IA, so he's right in your neck of the woods

PM Him and see what his plans are for getting down here. I'm sure there's room on a sofa/floor for ya in one of the rooms.... I think we account for most of the hotel's rooms now

Got another busa rider coming up with us. He was with us last spring on his Blackbird but his '06 LE arrived at ARS in Okeechobee yesterday. The Blackbird is for sale if anyone is looking for a real nice inexpensive bike.

zukracer, thanks for the heads-up! Been wanting to take a long trip for awhile now, & what better destination than to meet up with a bunch of fellow riders...completely excited....finally something to look forward to! SledHead, not sure if your reading this, but what you think Bro....would you be up for a nice couple days off? Anyone in my area MN, ND,SD,IA,WI, if your going, and dont mind a mellow rider taging along, give me a hollar.

looks like a 17 hour trip for me - 1035 miles to Robbinsville NC (Phillips Motel) or there abouts...

The DG area is my favorite non-beach spot on the planet! Here's a pic of some of our gang during a previous Busa Bash at a popular DG roadside stop.

Hey Valium. Im from Waterloo Iowa I have been down there twice I have hauled my bike down there and thats what Im going to do this time. Im working on buying a trailer that might haul 3 or 4 bikes its not a done deal yet but I will let you know maybe we can work something out. Its about 900 miles from here could be a long cold ride from here if you get bad weather.

Hey, that might work out - keep me updated on your situation. If ya want drop me a pm in the future & I can give ya my cell & we can chat awhile. Depending on the weather I wouldnt mind riding the busa back. Looks like we have sometime to plan, so keep me updated. And thanks for the possible opportunity if things work out for ya - much appreciated.

nope! pretty cool though ... at first I thought it was related to some unfortunate history, but its not at those curves so maybe its just a tribute to us going up there regularly and being good ambassidors of the sport
cool.gif
Either way, we should see if that area is good for a picture with all of us

I will probably be there this year. My buddy has an 05 M50 and is going to ride down with me from PA. So if there are any other PA riders that would like to meet up for the ride down let me know.

Sounds good to me.
I emailed Ron at Tail of the Dragon and asked how the curve came to be named Busa Bash. His reply was:

Tom:

That corner was the site of a serious Hayabusa wreck a few years ago,
hence the Busa Bash Corner. We have called it that ever since. The
corner name has nothing to do with your event.

We are doing well and look forward to seeing you again.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

I'm gonna reserve a room tomorrow, anyone that needs a spot to crash can give me a ring, or just get ahold of me there.

Is it spring yet?
