Ten states on the verge of bankruptcy

On the morning news, it appears there are ten states on the verge of bankruptcy. California is at the top then comes Michigan, New Jersey, Florida and my home state of Washington along with a few others. I don't remember them all. Maybe someone can add the remaining states?

Is your state among the ones depending on a prayer that the Federal Government (Which is in trouble itself) will bail them out? Or do you think these states governments will trim the fat from the programs they set up to spend the money when times were good.

Is your state controlled by the Democrats or Republicans? Do you have faith your leaders will sever the umbilical cord of cash to the people who put them in office or do you think your political leadership will raise your taxes to balance the budget?

Edit: Oops, I made a mistake, it's Wisconsin not Washington!

Nj is named the soprano state for a reason. I'm sure they'll just shuffle funds around, refinance, borrow more, and raise taxes to keep things going. It doesn't matter if it's Rep or Dem controlled they're all just filling their own pockets. :moon:

Heard that Calif is going to take 10% of gross income. Must be tough to be a Calif Mormon,
they have to give 10% for starters.

Maybe, Just Maybe it's because they don't follow our POLICY ! A REQUIRED Balance State Budget. And YES, the state spenders are crying :boohoo: (Big Deal :tongue4: , Who Cares :talk2hand: ) but that's the LAW  .

NO Money, NO Spend !!! :cheerleader:

Of course these JERKS, discontinued the Elderly Food Program and then gave the HEAD Bear-O-crapies up to a $1,300 per month raise. But it ain't over yet, as they say, the Poop has hit the FAN here about that

Honestly I think they should have to "Trim the Fat." so to speak.. If we have to live on a budget they should also.. but anyone with half a brain will know that most likely that will NOT happen.

They will most likely raise taxes and continue to feed off everyone in the state. Until responsible people are elected in the same things that have been going on will continue.

ok easy fix for cali simply go off shore and drill for oil and sell to the other states and say no to middle eastern oil the other states bummer

since the california is on top, maybe arnold Schwarzenegger go back on acting in few movies and use the money earning to help the state!

Best thing for California... Go BK and renegotiate all the bogus contracts. We are on the verge of failing but yet our wise leaders are trying to pass a 11Billion dollar bond for our water system. 2 Billion of it is pork. Gotta protect the delta smelt.

The truth of the matter is that the stimulus money was hiding these states' problems for awhile, and now that's running out. They've had time to see it coming, but do not have the political will to do what is necessary (cut state programs). Look at CA; for example, on of our suppliers in CA has the state paying a portion of their payroll so they can keep people on the payroll rather than in unemployment...are you kidding me? In TN, the TENNCARE plan is eating up about 50% of the state's budget, and will eventually break US if we don't have the will to say "enough" - but it's political suicide to even suggest it...

MS isn't #1 on something negative?

well i guess we cant have it all....

Tax and Spend, you can only get so much from the people. Most of thoses states if not all of them are ran by Tax and Spend Dems! How do you like the CHANGE now! :moon: By the way, I didn't vote for the current administration so don't blame me.....

dumb

Is it really dumb to point out the democrats are in total control of 9 of the 10 states that are on the verge of bankruptcy? :dunno:

Our lovely governor Christine Gregore has already told us to look for a tax hike that the government simply cannot operate on the budget as it stands. She also states that government has cut everything possible and there is no more fat to be trimmed.

Amazing, wouldn't you say!

If we don't show up at the polls and throw the incompetent bums out, then we get what we deserve! :rulez:

That goes for all levels of government from City to Federal! :beerchug:
