Ten states on the verge of bankruptcy

We can't change the past we can only change the future. Continuing the cycle of hate does nothing to help move the country forward or heal race relations for that matter. :rulez:

You say "continuing the cycle of hate does nothing".... Yet, most of these so called "proud americans" HATE on Obama and his views.

You know, if you were REALLY a proud american, you would back our president 100%, instead of question him on EVERYTHING he does or say.

Jesse (my room in Afgan) didnt approve of Bush WHAT SO EVER, yet he enlisted when he was in office.. NOT to help bring bushes agenda to life, but to protect this country and the people here.

Example: If someone on your football team makes a mistake, you dont bash him and call him an idiot and a failure. You forgive and forget and work together since in the end, we all want the same thing. Victory.

Are you serious?? Dude you're comparing apples to car tires. I can't speak for others, but I don't hate Obama. I do disagree with his views and the last time I checked that doesn't make me a racist (despite what most bleeding heart liberals think). I disagree with his policy making, but I don't hate the man. I actually pray for him almost every night as well as ALL our soldiers out there fighting for us. Unlike the far left that crucified Bush for anything and everything he did. It's amazing to me that we now have all this talk about backing our prez 100%, but that didn't seem to be an issue when Bush was in office. :rulez: Come on now guys, you can't have it both ways! ???

Well, I had to deal with bush for 12 years of my life and i thought he was a retarded man child who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He didnt earn ANYTHING he has in life. To sum it up, hes a redneck hillbilly with money.

First of all the spicket on the "hate" BS has got to stop and now.
The "hate" BS as defined is as soon as someone has a different opinion
someone throws out the hate or "hater" label to shut down their opinion.
If I disagree with Obama, I must hate blacks...
If I'm for legal immagration, I must hate Mexicans...
etc. etc...THIS IS BULLSHT.

Because I disagree with Obama and his socialist ideals has got nothing to
do with hate and I'm not playing that game anymore nor will it keep me
silent (not that it ever did, anythhing politically correct makes me vomit).

My point is we need to stop the knee jerk hate label throw down and
continue to participate in intelligent discussions (unless ideas have run out
and it's a last resort name calling tactic, which I suspect it has always been)

Lastly it kills me that people champion Obama and throw out the "real American"
lable would support the President, when we have just come from 8 years
of the most disrespect of a President I have ever seen or heard of.
I suspect for the most part they are both one in the same, the people that
slammed Bush are the same ones Championing respect for Obama...
(btw Tony, your STILL doing it...slamming Bush).

Broken Government | Failures by Full List

well that's a nice list but we can take each point and make it a seperate topic
and argue both sides up and down and still come away with nothing but
difference of opinion and which would be assigned directly to Bush or just
the govt' in general.

Oh that's right...everything that happened or was not prevented in the last
8 years was Bush's fault.

Is there a similar list for Clinton or no...or is this just a liberal left website ???
Like getting info from moveon.org or Micheal Moore....
Well maybe that's not totally fair.

Bear in mind, I'm not a Bush fan (I'm highly disappointed actually) and on
my list of Great Presidents...he ain't on it.

That is the trouble with leadership, isn't it? President Bush had some significant failures that have directly impacted where we are today as a nation.

As far as the website is concerned, I provided a link. I noticed that one of their "firsts" is disclosing that Clinton provided use of the Lincoln bedroom to political contributers. So on the surface they seem fair.

The point is right now, you can only disagree with President Obama, but his policies could end up being good for the country and the economy. We were headed in a troubled direction after 8 years of President Bush's failed policies. President Obama has only been in office 10 months.

People are QUICK to jump on the "hate train"... people disagree with obama and his actions before an outcome has even come about.

Oh and i can trash bush now, cause i SAW what he did to this country and this economy. (blame bush for this crappy economy)... I dont know if what obama is doing is going to help. Only time will tell.. but im sure in 2 years, i will be bashing Obama as well.

Wait a minute...I don't have to wait till the hobnail boot kicks in my front door
to see if we're going the wrong way. By that time it's too late.

I think we can look at his policies and make a decision prior to...
but anyway...keep ruberside down

Dang Dino I think you may have missed a couple of items when he was a child. I can tell you really like to research stuff. Will you help a brother research a new car? If I can utilize your magnificent google skills I should be able to get the best deal in America.

na, I am only good with the easy stuff.

Wait a minute! I thought we were talking about the Ten states on the verge of bankruptcy.

My question is what do you think caused this bankruptcy issue with this states on that list and how far behind are the other states?

Absolute errosion of the tax base ( all jobs went out of country ), 400% increase in fuel cost, increased numbers on welfare / all entitlements. Just my opinion, Dino probably has a better and longer answer

what you listed looks ok to me. I might add loss of jobs. Unfortunately all those things are dependent one another and it becomes a cycle..

Here's your answer...

1. California
2.
Michigan
3. Rhode Island
4. New Jersey
5. Florida split
6. Illinois
7. Wisconsin
8. Arizona
9. Nevada
10. Oregon

Must be working for the blue states...

Senate Dem 60 GOP 40 House Dem 258 GOP 177

I don't know a lot about all the states but I know Kalifornia (mini-France) is
huge on Social programs. You can't give away free money (remember NOTHING is free,
everything cost SOMEONE SOMETHING) and buy everything for everybody...
of course they're bankrupt. People need to take responsibility for themselves.

It don't work for France, it doesn't work for Kalifornia...and it's not gonna work for the U.S.
I don't need to wait till were completely owned by China to figure out Obama's give away
ISN'T GOING TO WORK.

Ahhh...here's some good news...

Millions will have to repay part of tax credit
November 16, 2009 7:18 PM EST
WASHINGTON - More than 15 million taxpayers may owe the government $250 or more because of how the IRS last spring set up President Barack Obama's tax break that was designed to help consumers spend the U.S. economy out of recession.

Individuals with more than one job and married couples in which both spouses work may have to repay the government $400, either through a smaller tax refund or a larger tax bill, according to a report released Monday by the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration. Social Security recipients who also earn taxable wages may have to repay $250.

The tax credit, which is supposed to pay individuals up to $400 and couples up to $800, was Obama's signature tax break in the massive stimulus package enacted in February. The credit has increased weekly paychecks for 95 percent of working families, giving them cash to help boost consumer spending during the worst economic recession in decades.

$250 is not big as the problem in a whole. It was probably money that was over paid or something. I don't think $250 in my book could top $180,000 home that was sold to me that wont even sell for $50,000 right now. Who do I kick in the azz for that? Just tell them to get in line behind Sears and Discover!

As for the comment above about one thing having to do with another is very true. When you see a company lay off people it is a domino effect. They have to cut back on spending and that has bearing on the business they use to frequent and now they have to layoff and the cycle goes on and on. So the problem is not to hard to trace. It starts with the loss of finances thru loss of jobs that causes the domino effect.

See earlier comment in this thread for person to kick for that. I'll give you a hint, his wife works in the current administration.
