Sorry to hear about your situation, I know what you are going through. Several years ago, I shattered my leg, (femur), and was on crutches for 21 months, and had the bike fixed way before I could walk. But this kinda thing can be very tramatic, both physically, and mentally, so take things at your OWN pace, everyone deal,s with this sorta thing in there own way, and in there own time.

Damn Jim! Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope everything goes well with your injuries. Following too close? The person behind is usually responsible for most accidents. Get a lawyer and a copy of the police report. Maybe there were witnesses that saw what happened.

Sorry to hear about your accident, sucks you get the ticket. I went down lastyear and was lucky with just a fracture in my up arm - took 1 month to get the bike bike and 8 weeks to get my arm back in shape.

Damn. Sorry to hear it. Heal up and get back on your bike asap. The longer you wait, the lessl ikely you will ride again. Belive me. After my accident I was "shook" for a while, but ijumped right back on when I healed up and now I am back to normal. But it took a while to get back to normal. And my normal is insane to regular people.

I will be makeing a bunch of phone calls this week starting with the insurance company. I do want to keep riding but with 2 major wreaks I am rethinking just how bad I want to ride. Here is what happened almost 4 years. This time I am much better off but it still sucks.

I'm sure the insurance company will total it. Lots of damage to the busa. What's the deal with cops ticketing bikes after they crash. They have no idea what happened, they weren't even there
I know you were planning to not bring the busa to Laguna, are you still going to make it this year?? Hope so. Keep me advised on your recovery!

It amazes me when someone has car trouble, which I'm sure they knew about days before, will let their stop in the middle of the road rather then steering it to the shoulder.
About five years ago when I was in Phoenix, this old retired man got a flat, so he stopped his car in the middle lane of the highway and started changing his tire.

Charles I'm not sure if I'm going to make it out there or not. I haven't bought a ticket yet or checked out hotels. I will make it next year with out a doubt but this year I think I may just take it off.
Sane_man accordint to thecop she was pulled over as far as she could but they guy behind me said she was in the middle of the lane. Not remembering it myself I have no idea. We'll see what the insurance co. does.

When I started reading your posts it gave me flashbacks of when I was in a bad motorcycle accident, glad you're still around to post and hope for a Godspeed recovery for you!
wow bro sorry to hear that...i hope that you have full coverage if not you can always sell your bike peice by peice on ebay and get enough for a down payment on a 05 or 06(when they come out) my suggestion is get back in the saddle as soon as you can dont let this scare you from getting back on.....get well soon!!!

so sorry this happened but hey, your bike is smashed on the left side, mine on the right, maybe we can create FRANKINBUSA!!!! I'll be in touch and I'll send some hula girlz to aid the recovery...
maybe its me but the bike doesnt look as bad as i thought it would.. yeah new plastics, new left side cover.. doesnt look like the frame got it. think the bike faired better than u did with the broken leg. the arai did its job for sure!
its like hitting debris left over from an accident that already happened.. u shouldve seen it to avoid it.. the reason i know this i ran over a gas can at nite with a car. And when i went back to the CHP officer and car that it came from thats how he explained it to me. it sucks i know.

I'm sooooo sorry about the accident, but so glad you're "okay"...I know, surgery and down time isn't going to be fun, but it could have been so much worse. I'm just glad you're here...
Busa looks rough...but it can be fixed (hopefully)...as for getting ticketed? Hrmm, cops will have to chime in on this one, but if she didn't have any emergency lights on or anything, I can't believe that's considered your fault...I hope you can fight the charge...just sucks...
