Well I did it again

Hula girls for me.
biggrin.gif
Thanks.

I went to see my surgeon this morning and will go in for surgery tomorrow morning. Talking to him was very positive and looks like I'm am going to be in great hands. If things go as planned he would like to see me start walking tomorrow afternoon and get on with my life as if this never happened. I will have a rod put in my Tibia again but it's not the worse thing in the world. I've been there before so I know what I'm looking at. My injuries aren't anywhere near as bad as the last time so getting back on my feet will happen quickly. I'm guessing the better part of the month out of work

The things I'll do just to get some time off.

My other wounds are healing quickly and getting around is getting much easier. I will let everyone know how things go tomorrow as soon as I can. Until then go take a nice ride for me and take some pics.
I shell return.

Pace is pulli'n for ya Jim---glad to hear your latest update.....Thanks for the ride in 02--you took me and the Mrs to dinner i think...in your GMC.

sorry to hear about your accident, good to know that you'll be okay.
don't be so quick to give up on riding, it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

doesnt sound like it would be to hard to fight that one in court, did you get the # of the guy behind u. just talk to the prosecter at the pre trial hearin and see what he/she thinks. sadness and casts help, flirting too:)(dont ask)

good luck with selling it/insurance

sorry to know about that accident. good thing is that you are able to tell us what happened, and that means you'll be riding the Busa again soon

Anything to get attention...

Seriously, Jim, that really sucks. I hope you can get the operation done, and recover soon. It could have been so much worse.

I'm Back. Well atleast back from the hospital. My surgery went well and I am somewhat moble. Crutchs will do now so no more wheelchair.
biggrin.gif
Pain is pretty low it's just is dole ache. My dad took the bike down to the dealer ship on monday and it doesn't look like it can be fixed. Oh well, this isn't a bad thing for now anyway. We have a rough history together. Someday I may ride again but it wouldn't be soon. Mom won't let me get another bike.

Not to metion the bills that got out of hand. I am still trying to sell my house to get caught up. Once my house sells I will have to more back in with my partents to save up for a new house so until that happens there is no way I could even think of getting a new bike. So it looks like atleast a year if not more. I really think if I want another bike I will have to move out of state and hide it.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and wors it really does help. I will keep you all up to date as I find out things. Until then thanks again.
Jim

Glad to hear your doing better, too bad money won't grow on trees, we all could use a little more green

I just got off the phone with the shop and I think it may be a total loss.  Are you ready for this one?  Some how I doubt it. The total damage not counting labor and maybe not all of the needed parts.   Drum roll please.
$24,428.35
wow.gif

Yes that is twenty four THOUSAND...  Just to name a few part until I can get the full list.  Plastic (all the way around) frame, motor, ect. ... ...

OH, Now thats funny... 24k worth of damage to a 10K bike... Do you think the insurance company will write it off???
smile.gif

Glad your allright man. Sounds like maybe you should simply change the kind of bike your riding when you get back on two. Sure you can crash anything, But them cruiser types in the right hands do tend to keep you out of trouble... That urge to GO just isn't as strong... Well not when I am on them anyway. Seems that when on a Harley most of my attention is spent simply willing the bike to stay together...

Kidding, but it does seem to eliminate alot of my go fast urges...

Check into a used Honda Magna... 750CC V-4, large aftermarket, affordable...

Sorry to hear of your accident but I'm pleased you are healing quickly. I hope these incidents don't stop you from enjoying this great sport. I have been in 3 major car accidents (none my fault) and continue to drive although cautiously.

I wish you well.

Good to see you back Jim! Karen sends her best wishes for your speedy recovery, and wants to see you at Laguna bike or not. (she made me say that)

24k to fix it?! I'd say get a second opinion. Unless the frame is truly bent and the engine is toast, it might be do-able. So, get better, get the settlement from the insurance co., and put it back together yourself, then we'll see you in Laguna right! There, all better now isn't it? Sheesh!
