What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Tonight after work I got some motivation (at last!) to sort out a few things on my bike . . I hooked up the PC3 after a long break of having it disconnected and running the stock ECU mapping.
My PC3's map is a map that the local dyno shop owner did for my Busa, but he said he could not complete it at the time due to my fuel pump failing at high revs, high load on the dyno . . pump was blocked up in the screens for the reg and the main sleeve it sits in. (external pump, '99 model)
So I've hooked it up and I'm gonna try it out next ride I go on.
Will be interesting in seeing the difference in the fueling and performance etc.
Also about to install a 4 way fuse block to tidy up my accessories wiring.
I'll finally have my radar detector connected to 12v thru the ignition circuit, I've had it connected directly to the battery for ages and have accidentally left it switched on a few times with irritating results, flat battery. Not good.
Also the little speaker I run for the radar detector that's mounted on the left handlebar will get relocated to next to the detector itself, up higher so I can hear the darn thing at speeds above 120kmh, the way it is at present is the wind noise overcomes the volume output of the warning chirps, leaving me unaware of a radar presence in the locality. If I have it pointing at me just under the top of the screen I reckon that will amplify the sound more and I'll be able to hear it at higher speeds.
I fixed my faulty USB input as well, turned out the reason it stopped working was a little coil was broken away from the circuit board, I soldered it back on and she's operational again poking out 5v for charging duties. Yay.
I fitted a spare left rear footpeg bracket that I've modified, cut off the muffler mount and shaped it to clean up the look of it . . looks good!
Tomorrow night I'll remove the tappet cover and check all the valve clearances, first check since I fitted the new Yoshi spec cams and cam chain 20,000kms ago. I'm also gonna fine tune the manual cam chain tensioner to be certain it's not over tensioned.
I also wanna take my shock off the bike and send it to K-Tech asap.
The Busa will be off the road for a week or two.

It was a dreary, cloudy, rainy day so I went to the garage and gave the beastie wax and wipe...one of the neighbors stopped by and chatted while I gave the bike a good going over...he s an older guy who never rode motorcycles but he is pretty impressed with mine....

He said it looks pretty exotic going down the road and sounds good too...

It's supposed to be rainy and dreary the next few days...yay!

I wish it would rain here. Never felt the air so dry and smoky. This shot is from 3,000’ looking north and (higher) where I can always see the start of the mountains as I head towards the Park, about 15 more miles. But now, the smoke cloud covers everything!

Over the last couple days removed the blackwidow dual system with yoshi cf cans and put them into storage. Replaced with a delkovic single with a custom link pipe and a yoshi CF from a triumph tiger. Once we're allowed out, I'll go dyno it to make sure it's still in specs.

Sounds like a lot a fuss...why not just turn up your hearing aid...

Kiddin Boss, you know I love ya. Does your detector have Bluetooth? If so,helmet speakers?

The fitment on that header is sweet. Are the pipes a smaller diameter than the Black Widow? Looks like Delcovic has the bends perfect. Was the new can chopped by you? How's the quality feel on that aftermarket lower hose? "All these questions Rubb, get lost..."

Out riding for the weekend, but these are almost done . Young man I train has a girlfriend who is a machinist. She's been making these for me off my drawing.

I know u make some trade offs on your weight reduction to keep rj what u want him but I heard the other day about a well known performance shop that puts videos up on YouTube that has a busa currently weighing in at 442 lbs and they are trying to get it to sub 400 .. I think it's a gen 2 but not completely sure on that part.

Do you have the links to the videos?

That would be interesting to see how they managed to carve 100lbs off the beast and still make it look like a Hayabusa....

No video yet that I know of, friend of mine that has a beast of a zx10 is friends with the shop that is building it and he seen what they had going on when he was getting his bike tuned the last time. I don't wanna throw their name out because I'm not sure I'm supposed to know but I'll do some digging and find out if they made a video of it doing a run yet.
