What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Started it! Been sitting for a few months in storage here in Canada. And just so I could spend a little more time with it I installed a new phone charger on it. Was great to hear it run!

I've seen and particpated in this type of thread on other forums so just thought I'd give it a try here.

If you guys don't like the idea then feel free to ask the mods to delete it...But it gives you a chance to show off you daily work that sometimes goes unappreciated and may motivate others.

As for me, I replaced the chain and sprockets (+3 on rear) and adjusted the speedohealer accordingly on my busa. It was the first time I replaced a chain myself (usually have the shop do it) and frankly I was surprised how easy it was to break the old chain and rivet the new master link. The entire job took less than two hours.
I replaced the front brake and clutch lever, aired up the tires and looked at the fuse box wondering why my horn and brake light wasn’t working. Then my dad took it for a milk run

As both of my girls don’t need anything and are mechanically/cosmetically perfect, I’ve made a start on repairing the Triumph with plans to bring it on road within a week or two.

New rim is waiting to go on but the L/H Ohlins is out getting straightened.

I put the bikes on the lift table and really cleaned them, really! Whew...Now, I don’t want to get them dirty! I can’t even guess how many times I’ve cleaned the Busa since 2006. My radiator looked awful, really bad. Can’t imagine why I’m not overheating. It looks that bad but apparently it’s still breathing ok. I’ll pull the fairings off next oil change and wipe everything down underneath. I used hot water soaked towels, Plexus, Simple Green, WD40 and Mother’s Back To Black aerosol, and a ton of towels. Lot of work but they sure look good.

Finally decided to do the bar swap I have been procrastinating about for years. This will actually be the Fifth iteration of Handlebar setup on this bike! went from Stock>>>Stock + Tall Genmar>>> Tall genmar & Helibars>>>Fatbar (814-01 Streefighter bend)>>>Fatbar (845-50 Street Medium Touring bend). This new bar is a bit narrower, has more rake and a wee bit more rise to it than the previous version, oh and it's gold just for some newness! The old bar was always a little too wide, and not quite enough rake for my tastes, but I couldn't just cut it down due to my grip heaters being stuck to the bar. Still not sure what I am going to do about the grip heaters, I may just buy the Koso Apollo ones I have been looking at, but I am going to attempt to transplant the Heat Demons to the new bar first just in the interest of economy. Also have a new Gear indicator that I am 3D printing a mount for to install at the same time. Time to fire up the shop heater and get to it!

Let us know how those bars feel. I have the fatbar street fighter bend and feel as though I need to be a little more upright and hands slightly further back for comfort

Well I got the bars installed and everything is basically snugged up. Going to go through and add thread-locker to all the fasteners once I get it all right where I want it. Still playing with the MC locations, and bar angle a little.

I decided I didn't like the Grip heater switch mount I had, so I 3D Printed a new one that integrates the clutch MC perch(?) with the switch, much nicer looking and a lot more solid I think. The grip heater turned out to be no problem to move from the old bar to the new one.

@SSGT_B I was in the same boat as far as the ergos with the Streetfighter bend. I haven't ridden it yet, but I think this bar will be much more comfortable! Renthal has a tool on their website and you can overlay the bar you have now, with any of their others to get an idea on the delta!
