What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Does it noticeably do something
Keeps heat out of anything it is on amazingly. So many cheap copies but DEI is the one to buy. I was boiling fuel at 73 degrees out the other day so I got the RCC relocate kit that puts the pump in front of the rear shock behind the engine. Then I covered every inch in that. I’ll never have another issue.

Getting there. I tried to shift into 7th like 5 times. Going to up the gearing.

The shift light is currently set at 9k. I wanted to give me an early light cause im not used to the bike. The suspension is so wonky right now that even at that speed I may have sharted. Everything up high speed was just roll ons. The bike is ready for more but I'm not. I take my time learning new bikes. Tomorrow I'll look over everything and see what fell off or needs adjusting but it should be going to EJR very soon. Once it is done with that I'll throw on some gearing to max it out once or twice then I'll try for quickness.

I'll have to look at my paperwork from Frank but I think it was set to 11200. Then it dumps fuel to be very safe. But from 10200 to 11200 it doesnt make any more power so no need to flirt with death. I'll probably up the shift light to 10k.

Having trouble getting my GIPRO to recognize the gears in GP shift..Driving me nuts. Guess I should look at a manual or whatever my wife calls those things..Instructions...

What’s your shift light and high side rev limiter set at?

How’d you take the pic, Is that an app? Thats cool
So its an overlay on the gopro's. But the Hero 11 mini doesnt have it which I didn't know till after I bought it. Hero 8 Black and up have it. I put the mini on the back but I don't really care for it. I may get rid of it and buy another with GPS then side mount it on the plastics. I always liked that view. Or I'll just buy a 360 cam, but not the gopro one

That’s why I wanted it low especially while I learn the bike. My old ass sees the shift light and then it takes me to 10200 just to tell my brain to shift. Lol.
Put the 19 on the front today. Got up to 202 but I still don’t trust the bike until it’s setup so I backed out.

Yesterday my phone flew off the Velcro and went flying in the air. I smacked it down into the speedo and was able to grab it. Lmao. In other news my GoPro 11 mini survived hanging off the side of the bike on a suction cup.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust that thing past 202mph yet either, safety first...lmao!
F'n Awesome!!!

I hate this bike already. Now it won’t start. Fuel pump isn’t pumping and I’m getting a clicking front the starter relay on the side. The one with the 30amp fuse. Clicks but does poop. Going to try to replace a relay that the pump goes into if not I’m ready to burn this thing to the ground.
I've almost torched a dozen of them over the years...it has to be something stupid, it always is.

Not the relay. And I actually did manage to catch it on fire. Lots of smoke. I’ve replaced about 6 wires so far but my cluster no longer says check, and the hot gauge is stuck on hot even with the bike off. If I put one of the wires on a different spot in the relay the pump kicks on but doesn’t shut off. I’m literally going to either burn it to the ground or sell this poop. I can’t deal with this stress.

Gauge isn’t stuck, that’s how it reads until bike is ready to start

Oh this is a classic. They should right a book about this one.

So listen to this. I put the fuel pump in the wrong place and in the wrong way. I cut lines I shouldn’t have. I finally got it all together last night. It started leaking from the quick release on the tank. I ordered a new one the other day for the heck of it. I ran upstairs while it leaked out. Get it and put it on and it fits absolutely perfect and stopped leaking. I pull the bike outside and hose off all the poop under the engine. I get the word that EJR is ready for it this weekend. I start messing with the relay and go buy a new one. Couple sparks. Jumped the starter wires and tried to start. All of a sudden smoke everywhere. Bunch of wires burned. Fix all the wiring and I was able to get the pump to work. Incorrectly but I proved it worked. I was just getting ready to pull a fuel line off when I say hey you know what. Let me check the fuse. Yup. 4 hours. Melted wires and it was just a fuse. Replaced it and it started right up. Oh and yesterday i dumped 3-4 gallons of gas in the garage. I hate myself. Lol. I’m gonna hurt myself

Sounds like a good time had by all...

One of the joys of modding bikes is going through a bunch of hoops (some nasty ones) to get the end result...trial and error is the downside.

Glad you finally got it sorted and just think of the fun you will have on it once EJR is done with it....you will have smiles for miles....

Kind of reminds me of a story...a friend of mine had an '84 Honda 750 Interceptor and it sat when he went to Germany for 4 years...when he got home he asked if I could get it running for him...like an idiot I said I would....of course the carbs and everything fuel related was gummed up to the max....I worked on that thing for what seemed like days..I finally got the pain in the ass carbs all linked together and installed, got the bike all together and turned on the fuel petcock only to see fuel dumping out of a carb....I took it all apart again and found in my haste, I forgot to tighten up some bolts on the bowls...I got it sorted and running only to have him wreck it a week later after drinking and riding....(he didn't have a scratch).
