This is the site for Cyclefest... The rates are within $5-10 of hotels up to twenty miles away. Or another option is to camp with the Org members who are bringing tents/trailers. I would call the number provided and ask to reserve a room for cyclefest and tell them the cost is... (See below,This is really close to the vendor price and they should go ahead and give it to you at this price.) Obviously if they ask if your a vendor you have to say "NO" but it doesn't seem to be a problem. I can't tell you what the everyday price is at this time because I didn't get a quote for it. My feeling is that its not that big of a difference. What your really paying for is location, location, location....

KS, those rates are pretty good considering they are right in Copper. If these rates are too much for everyone I FINALLY got a hold of someone who could give me rates for that weekend. The hotel is in Silverthorne(right next to Dillon) about 6 miles from Copper, it is called the Luxury Inn (not that luxurious but not too bad). They quoted me $59 a night for up to four people in a room even though there are only 2 beds in there. The only downside is that there is no garage. Big Wall and I just locked up our bikes together under the check in lane canopy. Just throwing out another option.

BlkBlu found another motel in Frisco, they offered a $63 group rate. Their web site is here. Either of these places will set us up I just need to call back and let them we have a group coming.

KS any word from people on the copper resort?

Thunder/BlkBlu Great rates... The rates you've found are really good prices! Using search engines for the area the best rates I could find were around $70 a night. But, since I'm not familar with the area I didn't want to have members staying some place I was unfamilar with.... If you've been to the locations you've mentioned and didn't have problems lets use those locations in addition to Copper Mtn. If you read my earlier post you can stay at the Copper Mtn resort for less than $100 a night. This is for 2-4 adults (two beds per room) tax included..

OK, I just booked a "Premium" one bedroom apt. for the event. Rate is same as on the site, so get them while they are hot

He said there's covered underground parking for all the condos but not a "garage" per say..... I guess I'll park the trailer under there and park in the trailer at nights....

I've been updating the attendees list.... Let me know if I missed you or your guest? Plus, let me know if you've made arrangements for either the resort or CampGrounds...

Thanks KS, I could not find that hotel on the search engines, so I finally found their number. I have not been to the Skyvue but it looks pretty nice for motel. The one thing I liked about is that there are posts in the parking lot to lock up the bikes and that you can park the bike right outside your room. I think people should stay at the resort or the skyvue, just from a logisitcs standpoint it is easier to get people together. Also I think the Skyvue is more on the way from and to the campgrounds.

Hey Zuk, the underground parking will not fit a enclosed trailer unless it is 6ft or shorter. My truck was a tight fit. What I would suggest is park the bike and the truck in the underground parking and park the trailer in one of their overflow areas this is what i did last year. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I made my reservations today for the one BDRM condo with full kitchen and the prices were the same as last year. No discounts but oh well it is worth the stay. My wife and I are going up on Wednesday so if anyone else comes early let me know and we can get together before everyone else shows up.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR AUGUST

cool, thanks for the info lobo, I am going to put the scorpio on my bike soon so I'll probably park the bike next to the truck....chained to the axel of course
wink.gif
.... I am a little concerned with my truck though, I'd need a minimum of 6.5' to clear and thats gonna be rubbing the antenna a little

Yea I know what you mean, I have a stock 2003 2500HD chevy and it was a atight fit, rubbed the ant and barely fit so I left the truck outside and parked the bike in the garage.

were you concerned with leaving the bike in there?

Just would hate to tow an empty trailer home if you know what I mean

no not at all, I have the scoprio alarm and the only people that have access to the garage area are other guests. They had absolutely no problems with theft last year, all of the manufacturers left their demo bikes out and none of them got stolen. The security around the lodge is pretty tight. Also there were several people that had to leave their bikes out in the open and had no problems so I would not worry about it.

Thanks K.S Bug for your work on this. You have me on the list---It will be My wife and I.
Heaton Bay #24--WooHoo. Won't be going to Laguna this year--it will be so crowded you won't be able to see much. Looking forward to August @ 9,200 feet Brrrr.

Yeah I wanted to mention to those who are visiting that it can get pretty cold up there even during the summer. It is sort of a crap shoot on the weather, one minute it is raining the next the sun is shining. Bring some warm clothes, it wont be more than 80 most likely with lows in the 40-50s at night.

We might try and put together a must have list of things to remember to bring.... I'm sure weather will play a big factor in deciding what to bring.

It's now moondog +4. Could go to six real easy. Only 2 busa's...one svs650/triumph legend (bringing both) and 2 brand spankin' new zx6r's. I told the Kawa boys they could come if they didn't bug us....(just teasing BT).

Just reserved myself a one bedroom Condo premium Room
so i'm set if anyone else wants to come along and crash later on give me a jingle
