I'm sure he's got a record of how many tires, how many brake linings, how many air filters, how many spark plugs, chains..... He got a plaque a couple years back from the president of Suzuki at 200,000 miles. Pictures and all.

He's getting ready to ride it from Missouri to Reno the first week of July for the Stampede. There's also a tail of the Dragon ride coming up too. He just keeps building miles.

I'm always fascinated by the wear and tear issues that he has. His ISC was acting up one year at a rally, so we took it apart and cleaned it and bolted it back in and it went back to working. It wouldn't idle up until then.

Funny stuff...

What need is there for a 200 mph touring bike? I believe Suzuki would lose more people than they would gain. I know they would lose me. If you can’t see a place for the Hayabusa anymore, why are you still on one?
You seem particularly hostile today....

Which stock Hayabusa will go 200mph? and if they could go 200mph, ask Kawasaki as they built a bike capable of going this speed with bags (H2SXSE).

...and I am on a Hayabusa only because I want to be....if Suzuki made one with factory bags, I'd be on it in a second.

exactly what the reviewers are saying> long and low with plenty of power, comfortable as in roomy its basically a bike heavy superbike, it rides very well on the road it just lacks two up touring so just for the single guys
Exactly, almost every reviewer says it's a decent sports tourer...and they say the rear seat seems roomier than the other generations.

The hyperbike wars are dead, the Hayabusa was designed as a hyperbike.

It is not competitive against the superbikes, in stock form it's not great for a long distance tourer, the new one will be a bit better with the cruise control but you still have to find some way to load your luggage on it...and people are already asking about lowered pegs and raised bars...

I am a realist, I love my bike but I know it's sole purpose in life is to amuse me.

Like you said that bike needs to be in museum when all said in done with maybe over 300k that's been around the world 10 times unreal...and open her up to see what magic it had suzuki might buy it off him lol.... ask him what oil he uses please.

Sorry if I came off as hostile, didn’t mean to. I just hate the thought of the Hayabusa turned into a plow horse.

I done the price difference on our overpriced market. The Gen 3 is already into exotic money with far less bells and whistles and HP. If you spent $5k on each, you’ll get more bang for buck from the H2 SX.

If I could've afforded a h2 sx I would have gone that way.
I like the look because it's different. Fast, has the smarts and can easily go 2 up. (with or without bags)

Add a basic ecu flash, maybe an exhaust and you're at 230hp @ wheels all day.
No need to touch the engine.. Want a bit more, add valve springs, job done.

Don't get me wrong, I love my busa, me and it just work. But it'll never get over 210hp without a serious cash injection. And I suspect the gen3 will be the same :(

I feel you there...

Suzuki decided to expand their GSX S,F and new Katana to meet the H2 line up whereas they would have been better served to expand the Hayabusa line up with a naked, hyperbike and hypertourer...

I think this combo would have been a huge hit.
