Looks like a war is looming in Israel

And what was Biden doing Saturday? Having a private BBQ and he didn’t take the time to make a public statement when the attack went down.
Now he’s sent a carrier group to the area with a lot of US kids into harms way with no real public explanation of what he’s thinking or what the plan is.

One gets to wonder where Hamas managed to get over 5000 missiles........

That's quite a stockpile.

At one time there was a big UN contingent in the region but that was whittled down to nothing and this is what happens as a result.
Have you ever seen what they call ‘missiles’? They aren’t the image that comes to mind. They still work but many are homemade and fired out of simple tubes.
If there was ever a good place to build a very big wall, this is the place, I'm surprised it hasn't already been built and manned....

It would be a challenge for armed thugs to run across a field and attack innocent civilians when they are dodging .50 cal and mortar rounds...
Gaza is already considered the largest open air prison in the world.
Already walls 20-30ft high or razor wire around its entirety.

From what I've gathered, Hama use several different kinds of missiles...Iranian Fateh 110s, Fajr 5, Khaibar 1

And they employed a never before seen Rajum missile in this attack

Israeli intel must really be slipping.....that much movement of systems must have been noticeable...

Obviously the concertina wire barrier isn't effective as these fighters were able to freely move into that region.

Plenty of videos on YouTube showing exactly how they did it.

Well a few problems they set themselves up in. That fence while guarded, has entrances for all the workers from the Gaza Strip on the Hamas side to come back and forth through. Those workers, while documented, could also have turned spy. So hiding in plain sight.

And yes they got complacent thinking all of their resources needed to focus north since Hamas had been quiet for a couple of years. Shame in Israel. But we taught them this.

I don't think there will be any doubt they received hardware from Iran. The part I'm concerned about is, will Israel launch an attack towards them?

They are already being shelled from Lebanon etc. It's pretty clear they want Israel to get drawn in to a larger conflict.

They should have had a big wall with sliding gates that could be shut in the event of something like this happening....and that wall should be manned in this event....

Hell, I recall stories of Canadian soldiers in the '50s fighting in the Gaza strip.....

One story was pretty interesting.....one of our civilians was there and he was a very quiet, unassuming guy and nobody paid him much mind....what they didn't know is he was decorated for taking out a machine gun nest while wounded and under fire after they knocked out his scout car and wounded his crew...

I only knew because his wife told me and showed me the album where he was getting a medal for his actions....

They do have a wall. Hamas blew huge holes in it and then rode a column of scooters thru it.
Seems like it was an attack that involved hundreds if not thousands of assailants.

I just looked it up and it said the border controls are mostly wire although there are concrete sections...

I guess what I figure is if there has been an issue with Hamas for as long it seems, why hasn't Israel bolstered it's borders into a defensive position?

I keep seeing these headlines ‘take Hamas out for good’.
Does anyone really believe that to be possible? You can kill people but not an ideology.
Israel will be given free hand to flatten as much as they want as usual and guess what Hamas will still be there and next generation of hatred will be seeded.
Exactly, Hamas are similar to the Taliban and al Qaeda......they can blend into the populace and disappear from sight only emerging to cause havoc....

And there can never be peace between them....

Israel is so hated by so many. I don't think it will ever change for them. They are surrounded and can't eliminate it all. The fact that the KSA was going to recognize them in a peaceful way was a big reason why they got attacked. None of their enemies really want peace.

What’s the problem with eliminating their ability to wage war?

Be awesome if it were possible, these guys like the Taliban and all those kinds of terrorists are like playing "whack a mole" they pop up everywhere where you least expect them. They have nothing to keep them stationary and making them into hard targets....

Finding them to target them is the issue.

I used to support the Palestinian call for their own state. Now that they've reverted to isis style tactics I'm pretty much of the opinion that a daisy cutter in the middle of Gaza city is the best solution to the problem.
There are two sides to every coin. I am NOT in any way supporting what we saw recently. But if you’d like to know where the desire and hatred came from for this most recent attack it’s quite easy to find. Search ‘IDF atrocities’ on YouTube.

Blanca, no there is no two sides of the coin here.

Read the Covenants of Hamas, I posted a link here. Hamas attacks Israel | Politics

Israel has been more than reasonable.

Should we have had a border neighbor who had a covenant of extinguishing us from existence, as the only thing they are willing to accept and they have taught that belief to their entire population. Should they have taught their entire population from the first day of school that the only recourse is Jihad of all Americans, we probably would have blown them off the face of the earth a long time ago.

Go live in Gaza. When Israel controls 100% of every aspect of your life, when the IDF kicks your door in and takes your 10yr old son never to be seen again let me know how you feel and what your gut is telling you to do. The atrocities we saw recently committed by Hamas against Israelis Israel and the IDF have been doing for decades. But when they do it nobody cares or comments.

I can name at least a dozen incidents like this:
“According to testimonies from the perpetrators and surviving victims, many of the people slaughtered – from those who were tied to trees and burned to death to those lined up against a wall and shot by submachine guns – were women, children and the elderly.”
Tell me what you would do? Do yourself a favor and search ‘IDF atrocities’ on YouTube. As I said Israel is not completely innocent nor were they attacked in a vacuum of one event.
