Looks like a war is looming in Israel

Who knows, perhaps we are both biased.

I’m pretty sure we can fill up many posts with links of what the Palestinians did and then again what the Israelis did. Those really just depend on bias. The events the last few days seem to not affect you as you think it is justified?

You never answered my question, so I will ask once more:

What do you suggest Israel does now, just turn the other cheek, or perhaps do an exodus of Palestine?

How to deal with a terror organization using human shields to protect their positions?

I’m curious, can you find one of your links where Israelis took hostages and threatened to execute them on camera? So far we know this has already commenced.

If I am bias, perhaps it is because I care that 22 Americans were killed and so far 17 are missing.
I never justified anything especially recent events.
I would not be against Israel’s right to respond accordingly.
It’s apparent they are going to do what they are going to do. A complete unadulterated ground invasion is going to take place. They say it is ‘to make sure Hamas can not harm Israelis any more’. Ok fair enough. But I think we all know exactly what that means. FLATTEN everything. Half the world will be ok with it. The other half will be inflamed.
I’m gonna go to work tomorrow and figure out how to pay my bills.

…”Just remember the videos we are seeing now have been a daily occurrence for those on the other side as well.”

Are you stating that Israelis have been carting off members of Hamas and Palestinians “daughters, kids and grannies” like Hamas has recently done ‘on a daily basis’?
They do arrest kids daily. But no. The comment was more directed towards the victims of rocket attacks on the Israeli side and how the Palestinians live daily under threat of the same.
The people themselves on both sides get along quite well. Truth be known the leaders on both sides have zero interest in true peace.

The Hamas covenant makes no mention of oppression or ill treatment whatsoever. All it is about is the chosen ones, who need to practice Jihad to create a caliphate. Exactly the same as ISIS.

The Egyptian border remains tightly shut.

This is the reason that Gaza exists today. Not one Muslim country would accept the Palestinians because they proved to be such a destabilizing influence no matter where they went. The PLO is responsible for some of the most heinous acts of terror this world has ever seen.

Will be interesting to see how this ends.
Hi. What is a soft target what is a hard target.

Hi. Unless you have been in a shoot do not shoot your self you may not know what to do. Do nothing and many people you know die.. save them and many inosent babies elders and woman die. What to do what to do. Only if you have been there can you answer that. Bee may know and I do no know if other people here have been there.

The latest attack by Hamas has opened the flood gates for Israel to operate in total impunity with full support of the west and no governing body oversight......this isn't quite a normal base of operations, normally world organizations would provide oversight to avoid any sort of war or humanitarian crimes....unless our mission was classified, we generally had some sort of oversight to ensure we weren't running rogue and going in wiping out whatever we encounter......we were also advised on preserving infrastructure if we could.

But in this engagement, there is nothing.....Palestinians are reporting all kinds of hardships trying to help their injured with no compassion from Israel whatsoever....I can see them gunning for Hamas but to brush stroke an entire country and mark them all for death is outlandish...

Why would they be given free hand to attack anyone including countries not even involved?

Israel has always been a "You take a finger we take a leg" philosophy. They can't afford to be soft. They are surrounded by enemies.

And as in most wars, the human suffering is usually what places the most pressure on those in charge.
They want the Palestinian population to turn toward their leadership to beg for peace. So they might actually survive themselves.

And as you well know Bee. They aren't wearing uniforms. There is no clearly defined human that is Hamas. It's been very effective in terms of warfare. We did 20 years fighting groups of people that walked among groups of people that weren't our enemy.

I'd say their end goal is for the Palestinian people to arise against Hamas and overthrow them.......there would be no begging for peace.

It appears they have an "blank cheque" to extract revenge in any direction of which they deem military aid to Hamas might have came from....
Yes we know that. How far will the USA let them go? This morning for the first time in history the leaders of Iran and the KSA spoke directly on the phone. The purpose of the call supposedly was how to end human rights violations in Palestinian Territories. Israel can last a little while but without outside resupply they will run out of everything pretty quickly.

Or the KSA may be giving Iran an ultimatum. KSA was trying to add some stability for Israel a month ago.
KSA is NOT a friend of Iran.

A month ago is different than today. Israel’s blind retaliation may be uniting the Arab world against them. Turkey and Jordan are speaking out. Where this ends nobody knows.

What we are seeing now was addressed by Netanyahu's first words after the massacre in Israel. Quote "The world has a very short memory, please allow us to do what we have to do, to stop Hamas once and for all. We already know what the reaction will be, when we defend ourselves the only way possible."

Disabling the two airports in Damascus had a specific purpose of stopping supply lines for weapons coming from Iran, it was not a blank check, as they are simply covering their back. From Syria, the Iranian rockets are smuggled into Gaza through clandestine cross border tunnels, including precision long range rockets.

226,000 People were killed, during the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs, most of them civilians. That seemed to be the only way to stop the war. Today, Japan is a strong ally of the US. Those are the tragedies of war.

Australia, Canada, the European Union, Israel, Japan, Paraguay, United Kingdom and the United States designate Hamas as a terrorist organization, their acts are heinous. Anyone who supports them should recognize what they support. What we have seen over the past few days was barbaric, and this is so typical of Hamas. They attack, murder and then become the poor victims. Interesting to note that some of the terrorists who came over to murder, were gainfully employed in Israel, crossing the border every day to work, with a pretence of being best friends with the Israelis. This is how terrorists work, they position themselves right amongst those they plan to murder during the right time, they are everywhere.

I would ask anyone who oppose what Israel is doing now, to offer a solution as to how to stop a terrorist organization who has one objective only, which is to remove Jews in totality from Palestine? How to stop that without civilian casualties who voted Hamas into power? The IDF have so far dropped pamphlets in various locations, asking civilians to vacate the areas where bombing is targeted. What more can they do?

If Gaza is not bombed to oblivion, how many Israelis have to give up their lives, by crawling in-between dense buildings, hidden tunnels and enemies who cannot be distinguished from civilians, as Hamas blends with and hides behind civilians?

If Erdogan is so disturbed, he should be asked to take the Palestinians in as refugees. No muslim nation wants them, as they cause problems wherever they go, which is why Gaza was created in the first place, to keep them out of sight.

Still don’t see the Palestinians as people too it seems. Where are they supposed to go when all exits are CLOSED? Israel is bombing everything everywhere. You think flattening all of Gaza will eliminate Hamas? Ok.
From the link you didn’t read:

Terrorism as a Plank of Israel's Political Parties

Israel's largest political party, Kadima (28 seats in the Knesset), was founded by a terrorist, Ariel Sharon. Kadima means "forward!" or "charge!" and is associated with the battle-cry of Israeli army officers. Kadima's platform states that the Israeli nation has a national and historic right to the whole of Israel, and that both Jerusalem and the large West Bank settlements must remain under Israeli control, leaving a potential Palestinian state without a capitol and with much less land for a much larger population. Is that fair?

Israel's second-largest political party, Likud (27 seats), was founded by a terrorist, Menachem Begin, who murdered Brits, Arabs and Jews with impunity. Likud was also the party of terrorists like Yitzhak Shamir and Ariel Sharon (before he left to form Kadima). The Likud's charter rejects a Palestinian state, claims that all Jerusalem belongs to Israel and says: "The Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza are the realization of Zionist values. Settlement of the land is a clear expression of the unassailable right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel and constitutes an important asset in the defense of the vital interests of the State of Israel. The Likud will continue to strengthen and develop these communities and will prevent their uprooting."

Israel’s third-largest political party, Yisrael Beiteinu [15 seats] describes itself as "a national movement with the clear vision to follow in the brave path of Ze'ev Jabotinsky [the author of the racist, fascist Iron Wall doctrine]." Yisrael Beiteinu was formed by Avigdor Lieberman to create a political platform for Russian immigrants and other Jews who support a hard line in negotiations with Palestinians. In November 2006, Lieberman, who described Arab members of the Knesset who have discussions with Hamas as "terror collaborators," called for their execution. Ahmad Tibi, leader of the Arab party Ta'al, strongly objected to Lieberman's ministerial appointment, describing him as "a racist and a fascist." Labour minister Ophir Pines-Paz, who resigned over Lieberman's appointment, echoed Tibi's remarks, saying that Lieberman was tainted "by racist declarations and declarations that harm the democratic character of Israel." In July 2003, Lieberman said: "It would be better to drown [350 Palestinian] prisoners in the Dead Sea if possible, since that's the lowest point in the world."

There will be no peace until leaders on BOTH sides truly want it.

Blanca, your choice of siding with Hamas can be found everywhere reading in-between the lines. Your ancestry is from around there right?

The only real alternative in contradiction to what your country (USA) supports is exiling all the Jews from Palestine.

How would you like this to end?

Can one criticize Israel without being seen as supporting Hamas? I think so.
Maybe Israel should abide by the agreements they’ve made which they themselves broke? Maybe they should honor their own agreements to not build more settlements like these Kibbutzs in contested lands?
Maybe as I showed above their own leaders should be people who truly want peace instead of in their own words ‘exterminate the Palestinians’?
Maybe the USA should stop being so beholden to Israel and stop giving them blank policy to do whatever they want in regards to all Arabs? We know who owns and runs this country. We know why the USA is the only superpower to continue to abstain from UN votes on condemnation of Israel. Maybe we should change that and look at things from an unbiased pov so real work could be achieved?
That would be a start.

My ancestry is Syrian. Yes on my fathers side. Over 500yrs our family has lived in same area of Damascus. I was born in the USA and am loyal to this country over all others.
I do not side with Hamas or Israel.

Lastly you should know that during the gulf war when Israel was having scud missiles rained down on them my father who worked for Raytheon at the time and I were key in getting Patriot missile systems sent to Israel for their defense. So your assumptions would be just that.

I posted a lot of reading which takes a lot of time below:

We need to look at where we are today, with events leading up to today, being the most recent.

For me, going through the details, it appears as if Israel made attempts at peace, with Hamas who's charter remains the objective of creating a caliphate in the entire Palestine. Naive approach from Israel.

Personally, I see a major difference in recent times, between intently targeting innocent civilians directly in public, not soldiers, but civilians and then becoming the victims from collateral damage.

I also see a major difference between most of our allies designating Hamas as a terrorist organization, compared to your links which are biased referring to further past times of Jews being terrorists, which is not designated officially.

I really have a hard time seeing the difference between ISIS and Hamas, irrespective of Israel's sins.

Netanyahu himself has been branded a war criminal by the UN. Numerous former leaders also carry the title of terrorists by the UN. In 2022 Israel was condemned more themself for human rights violations than all other countries in the world combined. I guess the entire world is wrong and Israel is forever right?
I see no difference in Hamas killing civilians and Israel dropping dumb bombs on apartment buildings killing civilians. Both are wrong. Thing is westerners have been programmed to see one as humans and the others not. None of that is a support for Hamas or radicals. It is only to show both sides are not innocent little lambs.
What you see today from Hamas has only been going on since their inception in the 70s. What’s your excuse for the 30-40yrs prior at the hands of the Israelis and all the massacres they’ve committed?

I do find it quite strange how we have not heard ‘impeachment’ or ‘hunter Biden’ in the last week. This is a perfect distraction for the democrats who have been seen as soft on Iran and uncaring for Israel. A war in the Middle East has taken up all the air time. Hmmmm…
