Looks like a war is looming in Israel

^^^^^
I believe we need to be fair about what we post.

On October 7th, over 5,000 rockets were launched into Israel from Hamas.

Since October 7th, that number approaches .20,000.

We have a guy here who falsely states 400 air strikes in defense suggests I wanted kids killed.
This same guy only cares about kids in Gaza, he would like to see Israel wiped off the map.

Red, if you want to post history, look at both sides and you will see several posts from the same guy clearly supporting antisemitism.

A rocket is a strike from the air, so is an air strike. What does it tell you about a person who is not OK with a 5,000 to 400 ratio? It tells me he only cares about Hamas and the Palestinians. He would like to see a 20,000 to zero ratio in favor of Hamas.

OK, you asked for it, when I have time, I will pick up all the posts which suggest antisemitism and park them in one post, so we can debate.
It starts with the PM, but there is a whole lot more.
No need. I acknowledge there’s several posts where he only mentions Israeli aggressions, but in context, he was replying to your doing the same with Palestinian aggression.
Both are guilty, going back quite a ways.
Antisemitism and being anti Muslim are another form of bigotry and any of it is too much. Judaism and Islam have some commonalities; I wish there was more emphasis on that.

Are you trying to initiate a wrestling match?

Why did you start posting about our differences in bias?

The day after October 7th, BB did a press conference. Some of his words: "The world will have a short memory, of what happened yesterday. However, we have no alternative other than to defend ourselves."

You became part of those with a short memory, for what it is worth.

Antisemitism, versus anti-terrorism are facts, there is no bigotry here. Perhaps you have missed all the protestors burning our flag, and flying the Hamas flag, as well as the Palestinian flag.

You can call me anti-terrorism all day long, never been afraid of sharing my values.

I’m not sure where you’re coming from. Antisemitism basically is bigotry, as is anti Muslim sentiment. I’m not saying you are such in any way. You support, as an American, Israel. I never intended to say there is anything wrong with that, nor is there anything wrong with Blanca’s stance. The Israeli/Arab conflict is a complicated, ongoing mess that doesn’t seem to be losing momentum. It’s human nature to pick a side. It’s more difficult to feel real empathy for both, equally.

I've watched a few experts who are in Gaza and are observing the IDF...they said the IDF have not carried out a few attacks to try and avoid civilian casualties even if it meant key Hamas figures were able to slip away..

War sucks and the type of war they are fighting is the suckiest of the suckiest.....

You like correcting the spelling of folks. So I thought you were an English major?

Bigotry = prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.

Hamas as well as many Palestinians who support them are part of a group called "terrorists."

So this is where I am coming from, Anti-Terrorist in your reasoning is bigotry.

Well then, call me a bigot, I am sure there are a lot of folks here who don't like terrorists.

If you have empathy for terrorists, who do what we saw on October 7th, I guess that is your choice and you can justify it with complicated history.

Lol you actually defined bigotry to me. That’s funny. Inside joke. Antisemitism is absolutely bigotry. Terrorism is a tool, bigotry a concept. First of all, when did I EVER call you a bigot? There are some here on this forum; you are not one of them as far as I can tell. Many of the Israeli and Arab offenses over the decades can be described as terrorism. That has nothing to do with bigotry, or the hatred or sizing up of someone based on their beliefs (in this case religion) or heritage.

I haven’t corrected spelling or grammar on this forum in some time, except silently in my head.
You of all people running off an emotion filled post like that surprises me, although I did instigate it by quoting your old post about hoping for more air strikes.
It’s fall, I have leaves down if you’ll excuse me.

Leaves not down here yet. Some colors changed.

Getting back to you post, if we want to play with semantics, OK then, let’s just change the word terrorists to Hamas.

Same thing, bigotry would be calling someone a member of the group Hamas.

So in your definition then, I remain a bigot.

This year we didn't have our usual strong wind to blow the leaves away...

I used the sweeper behind my tractor and managed to get a pile armpit high and 8 foot square....so I bagged them and got 15 bags then today I swept the lawn and got another pile just as big that my wife wants to bed the gardens with...

Lots of leaves falling this year....

I wrote a makeshift thesis in college on whether hating or even disliking bigots makes me a bigot (I used the term racist then) since I’m discrediting someone for how they feel. I’ll summarize and say that if a bigot doesn’t offend anyone with their beliefs, vocalizing or worse, I should try not to dislike them only because of their thoughts. I’m pretty sure you take issue with the acts of violence by Hamas. If they quietly hated Jewish people and never acted on it, and you still wanted to eradicate them, you could technically be considered a bigot, but of course that has been FAR from the truth. Hamas has been horrendous.
I hope you see the distinction.

The evolution to war is far more complicated than these two points you made......

Religious and political differences, geographical disputes, ideology, ethnicity all play a huge role in wars.....funding has nothing to do with starting wars only in the prolonging of them....

The deep down actual hatred I've seen while deployed is something to behold....this hate seethes through their veins and they'd fight with sticks and stones if they didn't have anything else. This hatred exists in people who have never met their enemy......it runs deep.

When you see the aftermath of a uniformed military going through a village raping and murdering everything....men, women, pregnant women, children, elderly people even pets and livestock.....everything.......... and the dead were put on display like trophies as though the attackers were proud of what they did....later on they started digging big ditches and throwing the bodies in them and at least partially burying them....

Until you've witnessed something like this.....you don't know.....
It matters little how complicated it all sounds and looks like with all the religious beliefs that simply make it the way it is. . What we have are sociopaths and psychopaths displaying how evil they can be with religion being the excuse for vile and horrific behaviors.

I understand the path you chose in life exposed you to the worst of the worst. I understand that experience is traumatic and heart breaking to witness.

In my opinion hatred is a learned behavior because when we are born we depend on the care and love of others to continue to live from one day to the next. When we start out in life from a place of being loved, then, how do we get so off course as to go around killing and destroying each other? I have my own beliefs as how that comes into play but it doesn't matter what I think about it... it only matters that the insanity stops.

It seems that certain people don't care that we have this beautiful planet to live on. They only care about what they believe which to me means they are as misguided as it gets.

The details of the carnage you describe are the results of what they think. These people are evil... and that gives them satisfaction when they can get away with the crimes against humanity that they perpetrate on others.

All true facts.....

Hatred is definitely a learned thing....in many cases it is passed down from generation to generation making the chain of hatred a real chore to break.

What's sad is seeing heritage sites blown up by radical extremists....some of these sites are lost for future generations because of these people and it's not right in any way, shape or form....

Let’s hope that Iran will not escalate further by responding to Israel’s attack.

Now more than ever, we cannot afford a missing in action stance by the president and the Vice president. If there were any leadership qualities whatsoever, they would both be directly involved with attempting to mediate between Israel and Iran.

The US has urged Iran not to retaliate against the latest Israeli strikes against it.

"If Iran chooses to respond once again, we will be ready, and there will be consequences for Iran once again," a statement by senior administration officials said.

It added that the US did not want to see this happen.

"This should be the end of this direct exchange of fire between Israel and Iran," the statement went on, adding that Washington was prepared to "lead an effort to secure an end to the war in Lebanon" and try to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, together with the return of hostages seized from Israel.”

The world has realized the US has no teeth and will act accordingly.....

The sabre can only be rattled for so long before it becomes background noise....

Hi. Yes Biden and Harris will be very soft. If Trump does get in? ( I do think Harris will win as all of the needed votes are under the tables at the polling places and will come out at 3 am) no one knows what Trump will do.

Yep, no one takes it seriously when all Biden and Harris can say is “Don’t”
Seriously as in you blame Biden? Does one need to remind you what the Israel/Arab relationship was like during Trumps term? Look up 2019. Obama’s? How about we add both Bush’s and Clinton?
Do you see everything in terms of red and blue?
…and I thought math was your thing; colors are more of an emotional As thing

You really surprise me.

Correction: I criticize Biden and Kamala, for being involved at arms length only. Americans expect more than that.

Although I did not blame them, since you brought it up, perhaps I should have. They enabled Iran, who did not have this capability to fund, support and train their proxies in 2020.

In terms of the previous administrations peace efforts, I live on planet earth, you appear to live on one of Jupiter’s moons, the one now being explored for possible life.
