Another possibility is Netanyahu is stalling, as the timing is interesting, a few days before the U.S. Presidential inauguration. Never know if the conversation might change somehow.

I do however know how the mind of a terrorist works.....they are beneath contempt and without honor.
From what Trump has publicly said, he has told Hamas that "all hell will break loose" if they don't return the hostages.....I don't think Hamas is afraid of the US though. Their tactics of using the Palestinian people as shields and using schools, hospitals and residential buildings as military establishments gives them a sense of immunity......
The Israelis know the Hamas tactics and although they look brutal to western onlookers, they know what they are doing.
Part of the Hamas strategy is to garner sympathy from those that they would gladly kill if given the opportunity, they know the west is weak and capitalize on this weakness.
There are two groups of terrorists involved in that conflict now. Radical Zionists led by Netanyahu make Hamas look like kindergartners.
As someone who has followed that conflict for decades please do yourself a favor and research past cease fire agreements. See who it is that fought the most to prevent them from going into effect and more importantly see who was first to break them and their pathetic reasons for doing so.
Bibi doesn't give a fook about the hostages, not a one. He's a blood thirsty murderer the world has recognized for such. I'm ashamed of my country for protecting and covering for what he has been allowed to do.
