(Tree @ May 15 2007,22:12) I'm a Buddahist, non believer.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
Christianity, responsible for more deaths/murders than all of the wars combined!
I refuse to believe in a god that is all loving and forgiving, but if you don't live the way I tell you to do (for 100 years) You will burn in hell for eternity. Something about that just doesn't sit right with me.
Besides as far as established religeons go Christianity is very young. Too many church leaders with their hands either down the pants of young boys or in the collection tray. If not one in each.
Believe what you want. If I am going to be judged, let it be by my actions. Lead by example and do the right thing as often as possible. It's not that hard.
Later,
Steve
OK, we'll take credit for The Crusades, count Northern Ireland twice 'cause we're on both sides (I guess), about 3 years of whatever got started in Africa (until the diamonds were discovered), we tolerated slavery (but in the end put the nail in it's coffin), didn't speak up when indigenous people were being screwed, and Hitler "said" he was a Christian (uh... pul-eeeze!).
But the 6000+ years prior to 33AD... don't look at us!
And even most of the above was all motivated by greed, wealth, money, power and land. The Church, included. Pretty sad. Kinda what happens when you follow a man or a leader and don't hold his/her words up to scrutiny or accountability. Lazy people just going with the flow as long as it benefits them down the road.
And the longer I live and the more I see of this world, the more I'm inclined to believe that whatever "way" the majority of the world is living by ain't workin'. Actions do speak louder than words.
