I had the ZX-11 that ran real well. I ran up against my Buddy one day from a first gear roll.
He weighs an easy 300 lbs. I pulled out on him and in third gear he rolled right past me and kept going.
I hated the looks of the Busa, especially from the front.
BUT,
That day I realized how good it looked from behind, RUNNING from me!
I built the ZX-11 and it would smoke a mildly modded Busa, OR ZX-12. It held me for almost 2 years, but I had to FINALLY give in.

I shoulda spent the money right the first time. 11doh.gif

Yeah simular situation happened to me. I first bought a Katana 750 thinking I would alright. I didn't want anything too fast. But as I got use to the sport bike world it was time to race a couple people to see where I stood. Raced a couple gixer 750's I knew I wouldn't win due to the "R", so I was cool with it. Raced an 1100xx it pulled up on onside smoked me...slowed down and went around me and left my ass pretty bad. I had to act like I was going to stop at the store so he wouldn't clown the hell out of me at the next light. But the straw that broke the camels back was when I raced a gixxer 600 and lost. I knew from that moment I was going to get beat again!

So after owning the Katana for 1 month (fully paid for) I sold it, and bought the Busa. All I could think about was damn I should have bought this the first time…would have saved me a butt load of money. Cuz I sure as hell didn't get everything back from that Katana.

Today...I'm making mods to the bike so I won't have to worry about those '03 1000's. Those bikes are freakin wicked. I can't be sitting on 1298cc and get my fairings blown off by a 988cc motorcycle. So...what did I do...make her 1507cc. I should be good for awhile I think. If not...I'll be at Carpenter Racing getting ported and polished...for another 30-50 hp. Yeah baby.

They gotta stay in my rearview!

Yeah You forgot the "ALL OF THE ABOVE" option. I bought it for all of those reasons.

BUT I still would not be on one if they hadn't made the 02' LE. I never could get past the standard Busa Graphics...Accept for the Black N Blue 02...My Katana was all black back in the day, and I loved it. I was going to wait until they revised the Busa's sorta strange looks, But I saw it in all black and it was over...Had to have it then and there.

That, and I love torque, Grunt, Power, Pull....Man thats what it's all about...the Busa has it in spades. Finally, it seemed like a logical progression.

Honda XR 200

The fastest color!

I needed a new bike after 73k miles on my 93 GSXR 750 and I was looking for something more comfortable that would still rip up the canyons. I didn't like the way the 'Busas looked when I first saw them. But then I saw my Black and Blue at the dealer, sat on it, rocked it side to side, sat on an 02 GSXR and didn't like the riding position. That's why I think it's funny sometimes that people want to make the 'Busa more comfortable. It was like a couch compared to my GSXR. My mechanic said it had a strong motor that should last a long time. I went back a looked at it again. That's when I fell in love...Lookatthat, the curves, a behemoth engine, I thought,.. that's wicked.

Guys.......I didn't forget all the above reason.....that's the other, post below reason........then you can explain yourselves right.

For me, it started off as a curiosity. Even while on the "good" side of the law, I had been an avid 2-wheeler, mostly very tame street bikes (Nighthawk-S, Pacific Coast, etc). A year after I left my former career behind, I was hanging out in my uncle's motorcycle shop. I still had a morbid curiosity about those darn crotch rockets that I had swept off the street and taken accident reports for so many times (all but 2 were cases of kids going WAY over their head in terms of what they bought vs. their experience). My uncle's shop only had Honda/Yam/Kaw, so no Busas. However, he let me take a Blackbird home overnight. It was like a pusher giving a new potential junkie their first fix, I rode that poor bike until almost 5 in the morning the next day, including a few runs at the well-known speed strip out in the county.

Once my addiction had seeped into my system, I sat down and poured over reviews, dealer sites, stats, etc. I wanted to know all there was to know. I pretty quickly locked onto the Busa as the ultimate target. One month later, I came across a '02 repo with only 1989 miles on it. Bingo. Game over. She now has 8700 miles. After today, she'll have another couple hundred. I'm not too proud to say that she's stock, and will stay stock, except perhaps Ivan's TRE. I'm also not ashamed, albeit proud to say that I'm adding Corbin Beetle Bags and a Corbin saddle as I intend on taking "Jenny" across the country from Ohio to Phoenix to see my brother and enjoy the sites along the way later this fall.

Yes, that has been expressed at least a couple times now, and I've already replied to it in the other thread. If you look closely, it appears to be taken from E! network, and I copied it off someone else on another discussion board.

I like things that make people laugh at first, but then make them feel a bit ashamed at themselves afterwards. Looks like it did the trick. Perhaps I've seen enough horrible things that innocent bloopers like this make me smile and forget them for at least a while. You almost make it seem like I went out and filmed, or worse performed the act myself. It's a kid, still pretty new at walking, getting bonked by a lobbed ball enough to fall off balance. Her head isn't snapping back from strong force, she simply falls off balance enough to fall back. Eesh. If you've never seen anything like this, you don't have kids, they do these kinda things all the time that makes them cry at first (and makes you laugh while being concerned at the same time). Whether it be stuffing Cheerios up their noses or getting sacked like a quarterback by the family dog...

I think the phrase here is "take it for what it is, get over it and move on."

Hey Former Bear, Your signature line cracks me up...

It's not that I've "gone BAD", really...

It's just that I've stopped being GOOD

And I know all the best ways to do it...

p.s. Listing your vehicles in a signature looks a lot like small-penis compensation... [/QUOTE]

Well I suppose that being a former LEO you have years of personal experiance, and are uniquely qualified to know all about small penis compensation....

Sorry Man, I couldn't resist...Not cop bashing, just given you a hard time. wink.gif Besides, instead of answering the What year/color is your Busa question, it's right there for all to see, and it is a Busa Board after all...or were you talking more of the folks listing everything they own down to the old buick in the back yard?rock.gif

And if no one has said it yet, Welcome! Your not alone here, I believe there are around 3 additional, Former and current LEOs on the board.

The latter...the folks who crave self-validation enough to list 6 cars like an '84 P.O.S. and such in their sig, but also people who list 15 lines of mods to their busas...eesh...it's a SIG!
