Turbo Busa vs. TT Viper.

ok, i dont know why it matters what i drive like i stated befor. but i have a 97zx7r with an 850 big bore kit, and a 94 Supra TT BPU+(75 shot) The car has been indicated 180mph and wouldt go any faster(no nitrous). The bike has gone 170 indicated and the rider would not go any faster(yeah, im scared as hell of the bike). Both of my vehicles would be destroyed by a stock busa and would outrun a stock viper.

I do not want to race any turbo busa or built viper. There is no point.

But just becasue i dont own either doesnt mean i dont know jack about whats going on and i cant participate in the threads.

Okay, when you grow some balls and learn to overcome your fear, you can participate in discussion time. Until then, go play in the Viper nut-swingers forum. There are several Supra forums, why are you jocking the Vipers so hard? At least one of our members here (Shindo97) has a Supra. I've got considerable seat time in a 95TT BPU. It's not that we don't appreciate fast cars over here, or think our bikes are unbeatable, it's just that the video you posted, that by your own admission you know nothing about, looks to be a fraud. Either that or the bike pilot was asleep.
Hey, Forza Motorsports is coming out for xbox today, maybe you can race a Viper in your Supra and post the video of that here too.

I have had Time to think about this at work today and the bottom line is after watching the video a few times it is complete BS. nothing about it adds up: whats up with the long intro showing both in awsome glory and then some sunday looking rider who looks like it might have been the first time to ride his friends Busa cruising ;like around the mall parking lot . then the camera shows what is supposed to be both vehicles getting in it with the Busa kinda behind the viper at the start of the roll on ,then its over after the viper makes this ridiculos advance then there is the interview with the guys face blurred out and then to top it off the posts on the viper board start calling this adobe photoshop type race the gods honest fact then whe real speed demons( most of us here , the ones that have been over 165 mph) read this know its bullshit and call for the truth and offer to set the record straight. then it becomes a he said she said its not my car not my bike dont shoot the messenger kinnda gig, so the bottom line is any viper anytime ,anyplace, anywhere, anyday. bring a video camera and i promise you will see something that all us Busa fans will love and appreciate >>THE TRUTH >>RAce1Gun

It's been said before, "why does everyone compare anything in the performance world to the Busa?" Just another guy trying to prove his is better than ours.
Bottom line is:
Hayabusa- fast
Viper- fast
Why is it so important to beat one or the other.

Screw- you posted this video knowing it would get us upset and then posted our reactions there. But none of the guys from the viper board are over here (ie Gary) so why are you? Is this some secret squirrel mission so you can get in their good graces?

i have no clue if the viper guy has time slips or has een ever taken it to the track. The Viper guy even says that the bike would tear him a new one from a stop. So why are you trying to argue?

Also, i agree with you. The video was sent by aliens to make us beleive that a 8.0liter built TT V10 car could somehow beat a 1.3 I4 turbo. They are trying to distract us so they can take over the world. End of that arguement ok?

I didn't say the same race screwball I said I saw the same thing as did some other people on the board . It was a viper and a busa . And yes, anyone can fix a video . Oh and I didn't even see the video yet (at work) But if the guy feels he beat the busa fair and square then its all good, if for whatever reason the vid is bogus then you gotta wonder why? Why would someone doctor up a fake video? For what gain? I say grudge race that thing!!!! Could win some serious money if this car is that fast. Still interested to know his 1/4 mile times.

My passenger/video man started us with a drop of his hand. I was in third gear. As I pressed on the accelerator with the force to almost make my calf cramp, I could tell the 345-25-20s out back were doing everything they could to keep from spinning. As I made my shift to fourth, I glance over at the boost gage to see it pegged just past the 15psi mark. I then look out the passenger side window and to my surprise there is no Busa there. I make my fifth gear shift and then look out my rear view mirror to see the mighty Busa a few cars behind me. I couldn’t believe it. I was hoping to be able to just keep up with the bike. You can imagine my surprise to see him in my rearview!! It is difficult to believe that this no compromise street car just outran a 10psi/race gas turbo Hayabusa from 80-180mph!!

2 things:

1) True races are from start to finish. Any monkey can stomp their foot down or flick their wrist back with no error what-so-ever. In a 1/4 mile race, one can have a slow reaction time or miss a gear causing them to lose a race so its more about technique, skill, and precision. As I said above "roll-on" races require very little skill, and as seen on the video, the money on the Busa had less than a little skill. I could beat a Busa on the F4 I had in the 1/4 mile if the rider wasn't a good racer. For that matter I could beat a Busa with my F4 on a 80-to-whatever race if the Busa pilot was afraid to hit a certain speed or was afraid to open the throttle all the way. That doesn't mean I could beat anyone who pilots the Busa, just that one. Put someone else on the Busa and the results may be different. It was said the Busa pilot had been riding for 15 years. I know people who have been driving cars that long and still can't stay in their lanes while making a left turn. It was also said the pilot has been drag racing for a couple of months, but there was no mention of the times he was running. For all we know he could be running 15 sec. 1/4 times. What I'm saying is "Greg" beat the rider, not the bike.

Getting off topic, but that's the point of doing a rollon is to show the abilities of the machines and not the riders.

Look at all the BS that accompanies a unskilled race, can you imagine if they had gone from a dig?

I'd really like to see a dyno of that turbo to see if it's actually making the claimed hp. The viper is obviously fast and the video shows what I'd expect a highly worked 8.0L to do to a STOCK hayabusa, but I have a hard time believing anything streetable can do that to a well tuned boosted busa in the 250hp+ range.
