What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Did an oil change a couple days ago..I guess I didn't tighten the oil filler cap down tight enough..first time in countless oil changes-always has to be a first time I guess.

Went for a ride and I guess it came off..I could smell burning oil but figured I spilt some changing the filter..I looked down and saw the clutch spinning through the spot where the filler cap was supposed to be and then noticed my boot was oil covered..

i was only a couple blocks from home so I stuffed a rag into the hole and idled it home...the tail was covered in oil mist but nothing on my rear brake or tire as my leg must have caught it all...now my ballistic pants are oiled for winter...

The bike is down as I await a new cap to come in the mail, hopefully it's soon...I was going to order one on Amazon but the delivery estimate was in Aug..

The nearest Suzuki dealer is an hour and half away and not sure if these are universal but figure they are not so not worth going to the Yamaha or Honda dealer.

The new cap is ready for a retaining wire...

Makes for a very short, but uneventful ride. Glad you smelled it before things got too bad.

Early on I bought a chrome Kanji filler cap that requires a wrench to remove it. Didn’t like the idea of someone being able to just twist it off and? Works well and looks good.

I'll look for something fancier later, right now the pickings are slim if you want a product sooner rather than later.

This one is much like the OEM cap only it has a hole drilled in it for the attachment of a wire. For $10.00 and a 3-4 day delivery time (I hope) I couldn't go wrong.

Went all out today. Broke the bank. Spent the whole wad. 7 bucks.

Just anuther red-eye popper. One of 2 different sizes of allen key needed for remove/install. Looks decent,on a quality scale...negative 3. LOL.
Rubb.

Got another oil filler cap from my buddy who owns a Honda shop-he used to have Suzuki but they pulled out. He and I used to race our GSXRs together and he had an extra oil cap in his "tickle trunk."

My bike rarely if ever leaves my sight so the necessity for anything other than a stock style filler cap isn't there. This one is already drilled and wired though as it came off his race bike.

I was told (by him) it will add 5 hp...LOL.

On a side note-he is riding a 2020 Africa Twin and absolutely loves it.
