Dropping down the range, this ride runs right into the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, for you youngins, Lady Bird Johnson is Lyndon Johnson's wife. If you skipped 8th grade Civics class, that's one of our presidents back in the mid-60s.

The place was super busy, likely due to the heat, so we skipped that.

A jetty is a narrow strip of land that sticks out into the ocean. I thought it was cool.

Local news seems a bit more upbeat than a year ago, when Covid was really taking off.

Brand-new thing over in Eureka. Think Ewoks. ;)

Day 3 was intent on leaving at 4:30 am to again beat the heat. Solo ride back across the state.

Late June also makes these days the longest days of the year for daylight. Taking advantage of that.

How often do you see someone touring on a $30,000 Ducati Panigale V4?

This was parked at the summit. I spent the next couple miles trying to figure out what it was.

It's a portable wood chipper from Sweden. Pretty cool machine.

Thought I'd fiddle with my Insta 360. Finding this little camera to be a steep learning curve.

This is called the Narwhal extension

The downside to these cameras is having to learn all new software to process the video it's taking.

The camera takes a spherical video, and then you screenshot one of the frames and get this:
