If you're not familiar with these types of 360 cameras, the camera has two lenses and is taking a 360-degree spherical photo/video. The software in the camera stitches out the selfie stick (attached to my helmet) to get that drone type shot and combines the two images from each lens.

Highway 36 from Platina.

At Platina, there's a Hermitage, a monastery, just off the road that I really gotta check out someday. There's a couple of these Monasteries spread around the Pacific Coast Range. Just sounds interesting.

Dropping out of the range from 5000 at the summit down below 2000. Starts getting warm below 2000. Temps increase/decrease 8 degrees for every 4000 feet up or down.

I wanted to check out Beckwourth-Genesee Rd up to Lake Antelope but would quickly regret that decision.

Getting up to Lake Antelope at 6500 ft wasn't so bad

As mountain roads go, this one is interesting, it sits atop a mountainous plateau, all flat up here & runs for about 30 miles into Portola. I've run tour groups up this road a few years back.

This road always reminds me of the Buell Ulysses was I handed a couple of years back and asked to write a road-test article on the new bike for Friction Zone Magazine.

I rode the bike 1600 miles in less than 3 days. I had to return it to the dealership on the 4th day. Not only that, but I took it to Sequoia NP first, then in the middle of the ride, had to boogie home to attend my 5-yr-old daughter's Hula recital. Yes, Hula. After the recital, I got back on the bike and headed north to this road.

picking up the bike, brand new, you can see still see the nubbins on the tire

I was not expecting gravel. I've ridden this road multiple times, knew there was a short 3-mile section of gravel that had been paved over, but instead, the highway dept has simply removed ALL the pavement. Well suck.

Back track, or continue? I'm so far up in the mountains, I'd have to backtrack 90 miles to get to the spot where this road pops out.

I figured I'd have about 10 miles of gravel. It turned out it was 20 miles until the pavement resumed. 20 miles of gravel on a Busa is not recommended. Win some lose some.
