Buying a Gen3?

Wondering who is buying and why?
I know a lot can afford to buy the latest and greatest, that is great! But some of us have to do the math.

$15G+ And my 2010 trade in/sell off to buy, and I get maybe 30more hp, all the modern safety nannies, cruise.... just not sure if the numbers are adding up for me personally. Just wondering if anyone else is doing the math on this one.
Not at least until there are some on the used market.

but I love it!

I've done the numbers based on a $18k price range. That's more than I'm willing to pay. I don't care for a lot of gadgets on my machine, so I would buy just to say I have the latest and greatest.
That being said, I still want it!

I just don't see enough changes for a $20k price tag. If it's $16-18k it'll sell a LOT better. With that being said, it really depends what is offered. If it's 1,440cc+ I'd go for it but if it's just a refreshed 1,340cc then I'd pass. I'm expecting an $18k price tag but we'll see Friday.

Regardless of its engine size or ‘accessories’, if it doesn’t have 200 whp or doesn’t exceed 200 mph bone stock, it won’t be (that) interesting IMO. The ‘statement’ made in 99 knocked the Blackbird off its throne by quite a bit. For another ‘statement’ to be made it should surpass everything from a liter bike on up, and not just by a few ponies or by a few more mph.

I'd like to see 200kg / 200hp / 200mph as it's calling card for $18k..

440 pounds dry would be quite an accomplishment for a long wheelbase 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5 liter motorcycle. Weight savings along with high end electronics cost $$$. Look at Ducati prices.
I don't expect cheap; I would love exclusive and over the top awesome. Doesn't really sound like Suzuki over the years excepting maybe the '99 release of the Busa. It was fairly shocking, special and changed the market. That's what I'm hoping for again.

Likely on par with the GSX-R1000 which is $19,999 here in Canada. Or $23,299 for the GSX-R1000R.

Be happy to see the new 'Busa under $20K Canadian, especially with the "Quarter-Mile King" at $18,099.

It won't exceed 200mph stock as the speedo only goes to 185...so it's governed for sure.

It might get to that speed limit faster than before however.

Didn't the h2 throw the gentleman's agreement out the window? Or is that only for the track only ver?

That's my thing. Acceleration and leaning hard into a turn. 180, 190, 200...I'm sure some appreciate the difference but to me those numbers are all stupid fast. I've wrapped Tango out a few times and for me it's more dangerous than it's worth.

planning on it. I sure like what little bit I see so far. Hopefully they have some more color choices. I love the red and gray colors on my 19. Would be a bummer to get rid of it and buy a bike that doesn't look as good to me color-wise, but everything else is improved. My only bike purchase this year was gonna be a new goldwing bagger dct, would love to keep my gen 2 busa and buy a the gen3 but its not gonna be possible $$$
