Got bike impounded for speeding...

I don't see the point in running.

We ride around advertising all our details compacted into one string of alphanumerics - A license plate!

Doesn't matter if it's a cop on a bicycle or in a helicopter - your plate is unique to you only unless it's fake or stolen...so running is futile because even if you get away - then what?????

Maybe you could become a stool pigeon , sing like a bird and turn all of us in ?
Then maybe you can 'make a deal' :)
Or
Say you just completed a wiring harness swap from a Toyota and something went terribly wrong

J/K

You'll be ok , don't sweat it .

Listen, anyone who critisizes you is an a$$.....We've all gone above the speed limit.....some more than others  the only difference is that you got caught.

YOU DID THE RIGHT THING PULLING OVER.....You have my utmost respect.

Was doing 120 when me and my Friend spotted the cruiser of the side of the road.............After we pulled over he thanked us and gave me a ticket for 90 in a 65. I consider myself lucky :beerchug:

For those that are running, you might want to sit back and think a little harder about your actions. If you think your life sucks now, wait until you are fighting for it. I don't think you guys realise HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO LOSE IF YOU RUN!

I'm not going to lie, I did some dumb stuff when I was younger but knowing what I know NOW.......I WOULD NEVER RUN! Ya I've been hosed by some cops in the past but it's nothing compared to what a FELONY EVADING and the laundry list of other charges they can get you on will result in. Now I have a family, house, great job, etc...etc. and WAY to much at stake to run...

You can always get a lawyer and fight it. It might cost you a couple $1k but at least you live to ride another day. Do you really want to be know as the guy/gal that went out of this world crashing while trying to run from the police... ???

Well actually...if you put it like that, tell me a better way to die...

Ghostrider comes to mind. He's got 9 lives when it comes to outrunning the po-po. The only two vids I've seen him caught on, one he was parked in the street giving an interview when the Polizei rolled by him, and the other was him running out of gas. Otherwise, the man rolls on everytime. Just one of his many videos.....

Hey wonder who he is?

You did the right thing and anyone that suggest other wise is off their rocker. Take your lumps, learn the lesson then pass the knowledge on so that others may benefit from your mistake.

Running is stupid alot of us has run and got away many times it is still very dangerous but I wanted to just comment on the plate no you cannot see all the plates and there is a small device made so that when you hammer down on it your plate rolls up under the wheel enough to hide so nobody could read it or take a picture of it.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation! +1 on the lawyer and just try and fight to get it reduced as much as possible. Most court systems aren't looking to screw people they just want the money.
I have to give you kudos for doing the right thing and stopping. About 10 years ago (pre wife and kids) I would have totally ran, but now it's a completely different story. Learn your lesson invest in some track time and stay safe.

ghostrider ,suzuki ghost rider , patrik furstenhoff , ghostrider hayabusa , ghostrider pix , ghostrider patrik

Not much out there but I think if he were dead there would be something more.

Motorcycle news recently revealed the true identity of Ghost Rider as Swedish rider Patrik Furstenhoff (a member of the Swedish Wheelie Team - SWT)

Hot Auto News: The Real Ghost Rider - Part1

Sweden

Patrik Furstenhoff, the alleged star of the 'Ghostrider' movies, has beaten the world record for a wheelie. During a three-day event in the UK, he took his unfaired turbo Hayabusa to 215 mph on the rear wheel. After doing so, he announced his retirement from the stunt world.

Furstenhoff isn't dead, that is a rumor that is not true.

To the OP, I feel for ya' man. There isn't one of us on this board that can say we haven't done that at least once. If you have been caught multiple times for it, then take your medicine boy

If this is your first time, that's the breaks of traveling at 140 on a public road, it is the risk (one of many) you take.

Run from the police? Not even a question, pull over - immediately.....

I got a ticket in the wife's Mercedes the other day  from one of those traffic cams. I slowed down to 15 mph and made a right turn on red, was nothing remotely coming the other way, but still 100 dollar fine. I paid it, I broke the law, not much you can do.

Speedking are we past the point of being serious now and can I lighten things up a bit ?

Maybe you should change your username to :
WasSpeedingKing
or
BicycleKing
or
PublicTransportKing

Did you make any friends while in jail ?
Were there any other org members there ?

Buy a really small pair of gloves and ask your atty to have you try them on in court !
Remember if the glove doesn't fit you must acquit !

Sorry you know I feel for you I really do and as all mentioned if you got caught this one time just reflect back upon all the times you didn't .

I got a tick a while back for 56 in a 30 no where near your situation but still of all the time when I shoulda coulda woulda I can't complain .
It will all work out.
