Well, here's the deal.

On May 9, 2008 (that's exactly two months ago), I had the first set of Pilot Road2's put on my Gen2. The odometer reading at that service was 9,840. Previously, I'd sworn by the 2CT's but wanted to try this 'longer-wear' unit on for size...

Today, at the wear bar, I go to the dealership to look for my next good deal.

The bike currently has 17,224 miles on her.

So, in two months, I got 7,384 miles out of the Pilot Roads. That's correct, nearly 7400 miles on one set of tires. Crazy.

Utterly unheard of mileage on a motorcycle tire, in general, particularly one on a bike as heavy and torquey as a 'busa.

For product recommendations, I can say the Pilot Road2 is a canyon-worthy, long-wear, user-friendly shoe.

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Highest marks.

I bought another set of Road2's, FYI, which is the strongest endorsement one can give...

I have one on the rear and after nearly 4,000 miles it still looks and handles great. I'll report how many I get out of it.

Great review...I think I'll give them a go when it comes time to change

Pirelli diablo Stradas are good too. Just neglect the rear brakes and monitor your tire pressure.

I got 7100+ miles out of a Metzeler Z6/M3 combo too. I am on Storms this set. They will have to do better than the Metzeler's to remain in the game. Great review of the Road 2's. I tried a set of the original roads on my GS1150 and liked em a lot but they were shot at 5000 miles. I am hearing good things from the new Bridgestone BT 021's as well. All the multi compound tires are the rage right now.

Great idea...see if you can locate this thread and revive it; maybe everyone can put up their Road2 results here...

7100 is extremely impressive. I find myself more 'blown away' than other people I tell about this experience.

Congrats on that long-wear. These days of increased gas prices, everything we can do to extend consumables is in the spotlight...including new shoes.

To everyone who buys the Road2's based on my experience and my writing, I'm honored...and you won't be disappointed.

I had the PP2CTS installed at 3,400 miles, the bike has over 10,100 miles as of today! A group I hang with is doing a trip to San Diego at the end of the month so I will be needing to replace the rear tire. In other words I am very happy with the mileage I got! I may have to try the Pilot Road2 when I need a set, thanks for the info Scar.

Ditto... I took mine of at 7500 as they were getting "greasy" feeling but still had tread left..

I just turned 2800M on a set of BT021's.. They are doing well with a lot of commuting time down the highway..

They replaced my forth set of Corsa3's and although they are wearing well, they do not inspire me to the point the Corsa3's did..

The BT021 just leaves me feeling uneasy at extreme lean angles. The front tire is also showing a lot of wear compared to the rear (has half the tread to start with but I am used to the fronts holding up well after the rears are gone)

I suspect that the front tire is going to hit the wear bars before the rear..

I think I will try the softer BS when these come off or perhaps a set of Dunlop Smart tires..

Pad...when are you coming to SD?

You could launch a thread on this so we can get together a group for dinner or something...if you like.

I'm glad to see you're using that beautiful bike of yours (10k+ miles)

I'll PM you my cell number so we can talk in real time about a possible M&G.

Sweet.

Seems to me, Spudley's due in town (well, LA, anyway) today!
