No idle...no start. She'll crank over and sometimes try to start, but she won't maintain idle. She cuts out and sputters.

More stuff

I'm about ready to give up.

Hey, Pac, are your plugs wet or dry after you try to crank it over? After it runs and then dies?

I read your previous thread. You have spark. Alright, a shot in the dark, because I'm a carb guy, don't know a whole lot about fuel injection, so this might sound stupid, or not...does the Busa have a power relay? A fuel relay?

I had this exact same problem on my track bike, a CBR, except that bikes has four carbs, not fuel injection. But I had spark, and it would start every once in awhile, but then would sputter or slowly die. It was fuel delivery issue, obviously, but I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on. And it ended up that not my fuel pump, not my filter, but the power relay and fuel relay were bad. The only thing I don't get it why there is no code for you to check.

Pac if I was you I would change things back to the last time it ran....then start your mods one by one till you find the thing that caused the problem. It does sound like a fuel issue of some kind tho. Hope this helps

dunno...tank an airbox are in the way.

Dat's jus da ting, though...she won't even idle for me. She'll fire and seem like she's gonna idle, but then she'll cut out.

hrmm...looks like testing for continuity is another thing I'll have to do.

Damnit...

Before you give up, dude, find out about the relay issue, and if there is something comparable to a power relay, fuel relay, test 'em with your multimeter.

I really wish I knew more about fuel injection. I'm still stuck in the old jetting the carb days.

no mods aside from the pair valve being removed and blocked off.

The external fuel filter was a neccessity, as the old one is already 7 years old. There aren't kinks in the fuel lines, though...and the lines are clear.

Gaaaah!!!

i would just change the plugs first its easy and relatively inexpensive

Good luck, man. I know from the experience with my CBR ... IT IS SO DARN FRUSTRATING BEING RIGHT ON THE BRINK AND NOT BEING ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT AND GET IT RUNNING!!!!! It'll come out in the end, though, I bet. Just really, really frustrating until you get there.

crap...guess I gotta look at that damn wiring diagram again.

Carbs weren't neccessarily a bad thing, though...sometimes I wish we still had em. EFI is cool an all, but dammit if they don't get fussy at times.

Good point, too. If the plugs look crappy, caked black, overly wet with gas, you might want to change them. In my track bike my plugs were fouled once, and the bike just ran like crap! It's amazing what a fresh set of plugs can do.

Sounds like you know that already, though, Pac.

You might want to check the gap, too. If they got bumped when you were putting them in, that can affect the spark/firing and cause you to run poorly, although I don't think to the extent you're experiencing right now.

Just trying to help think of everything with the other guys.

Everyday over here is riding season...

and it's been two years since I last rode.

Gaps in the plugs should still be good. I was puttin 'em in as gently as I shave my nads.

Gap should not have been altered.

Yeesh! I hope you get this figured out. You've been rebuilding your bike, right?

and yah...they're FRIKKIN expensive! Geez...

$40...that's a friggin prime-azz dinner!
