Sir, no sir.

I did get a yellow card for somethin sent via Express Mail, though. I'm wondering what it may be.

I'll go down to the PO today during lunch...see what I can see.

Hopefully that will solve the problem. I'm crossin my fingers, bro...
I'm sure thats it! Go get that thing.
sir yes sir! I'm actually gonna head outta here in the next 10...

I'll let ya know what it is when I get back.

So hey, If the fuel pump does not come on for about ten seconds when the key is turned on and stay on when you hit the starter button u probably have a bad fuel pump relay which is located under the left side frame couling. That is what happened with mine. If all that works well then I would look at the fuel regulator. The sputtering or attempt to satrt is probably the relay is coming on briefly but not long enough because it is no good. Good luck!
That is an idea! I'll see if I can inspect the regulator further.

I thought that it was fine...but I guess I'll hafta take a look at it again.

Well, dont keep us waitnig ?

sorry, pimpin....but I ain't got any good news.

Worked on it over the weekend, no dice. Removed the external filter and rigged the line from the pump straight to the fuel rail.

Still won't run. Pappy came over and said that it sounded like the engine was being starved of fuel.

Right now I'm eyein that pump...I have a feelin that's the problem.
Do the one test with the measuring cup I sent you for the fuel pump test. Also I included per your request a how to do a compression test on your bike link.

Were gonna get it run'n, Paul, sooner or later !

Yeah, pimpin...I did that test. Well, sort of.

I checked the flow output from the pump...but it didn't seem to be all that good. Even when I cranked it, the fuel flow was marginal at best.

I gots me a newer pump...so I'm gonna put that in tonight and see how it goes.

I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope that I don't hafta do a compression test. If the compression's down on the engine, that means that I have waaaay more work than I can handle.

Wish me luck, playa...

Pac have you had any luck with that bike o' yours yet?.....don't make me come down there and fix it now lol
We have success, bro!! Apparently, you and some others here called the game winner:

lazy pump.

Put in a newer pump courtesy of NJ...and voila!!! Fired up right quick and in a hurry.

Now it's just a matter of fine-tuning a couple of things and making sure all the bolts are on nice and tight...then it's game on!!!

Well, hopefully. I'm trying not to get too excited about things. At least, not until the first couple of rides have passed without incident. Then I'll be happy as a banana covered in jelly and bread.

Glad ya got it runnin. Ref the spark plugs. Future ref autozone carries the NGK CR9E plugs for $1.89 give or take a plug.

Aah yes...isn't it, though? I wouldn't have gotten far without you guys' help. Whew!

She's running pretty good with the exception of a couple of things:

- low beam just cut out. Bulb looks fine.
rock.gif
WTH?

- Rear turn sig is cutting out, guess a wire got loose. Damn.

- leaking clutch fluid, but I rectified it as of Friday night. Runs pretty good now.

Just a couple of things need to be fine-tuned before I can say that it's all good. But heck, it's 99% there, so I'm really glad about it.

Interesting, really. I took it down to the dealer on Saturday...showed it to him.

Guy revved it a couple of times (I almost jumped on him for that) and then listened. Asked me if I rejetted it.

Re-jetted? WTF? This mofo don't have no frikkin carbs. I politely smiled and said that the engine was closing in on enough miles to have the valves readjusted.

Re-jetted. WTF.

And as for the Autozone? Well, we don't have them here. Lovely. Prolly gonna hafta ask my boy in WA state to track some down for me.
