Gen 3 Performance

The trouble with the Hayabusa going against the liter bikes is the weight loss regime added to the cost of getting the power where it needs to be.

Lots of videos on EJR and what he's done to his bike to be sort of competitive against them.
Like making a hellcat fast... Lol.... I loved my Z06 and my ZL1 1LE, but when I took my kitty in the 9s while being so comfortable doing it... Lol

That's what Dodge designed the Hell Cat for-1/4 mile runs....

Take one to the road circuit and put it against the 'vettes and it's no contest (as you already know).

I do think Dodge did it right in keeping the Challenger closer to the original intent...Chev and Ford kind of lost their way with the Camaro and Mustang IMO.....they are nice cars but not as nostalgic as the Challenger.

if you still have your gixxer 1000 keep it and don't waste your money. Gixxer with some updates are much faster than busa. busa it's a good bike but too slow, just my opinion.
I absolutely agree with this if you’re staying naturally aspirated and at one point was a bit bummed because I thought the Gen 3 was going to be faster. My plan was to boost and work on things myself and the Busa makes more sense for that to me.

As for why it’s not fast enough for some people. I can’t speak for others but yammie noob said something that I relate to: “You have to be broken” and that’s what it is for me. I feel at home on fast bikes. My track bike is a 2015 zx6 and I’m fast on it because of how hard I can push on the track. The street doesn’t have that so I’m looking to get a similar rush with a boosted bike I can ride around more often than my road race bike. Here is a clip of what Yammie Noob said that I relate to so yes I want more than 300whp.

That's a bold statement right there......

In my and many opinions, the gen 1 was the best...as far as it all goes, a bike designed in 1999 is still relevant and the benchmark to meet.

I do like the gen 3 as a bike and it would be a replacement for my current gen 2 but I certainly don't see it as the best version of a Hayabusa.
I respect your opinion i have had all 3 of them and in my opinion Gen3 is the best.

That's debatable... I think that just happened as a result of creating the only car on the road with 700 horsepower. If they were truly focusing on quarter mile runs they would not have used a Mercedes as a chassis and a 4500 lb car and they would have geared it for a quarter mile run not for 180 plus mile per hour sedan.

Ever see one racing in anything other than 1/4 mile?

The GT500 and Camaro ZL1 1LE put out as much or more hp.

Its really not even comparable... People like the previous gens for different reasons, but the gen 3 does everything better, if you thank anything different your fooling youreslf
Speaking of debatable....the gen 3 doesn't do everything better or there wouldn't be so many requests for more power, better ergonomics or wind protection....it seems it has the same issues as all the other generations.

It has cruise control and the electronic suite which is or isn't a blessing depending on how you look at it.

I like the gen 3 and would buy one but it is what it is...

You should buy one and join us in this new adventure!!!

Makes no sense for me to do so, our season is far too short for such an investment, they are over $25k out the door around here.

My current bike is set up pretty well, other than the electronic suite, there is no advantage for me to get a gen 3.
In case you want to move on to the new Gen3 you wont regret it you just have to run one for a few miles and then im sure youll change your mind.

Maybe, maybe not,

I have heli bars, drop pegs, a Puig windshield, a quickshifter, Brembo MC and calipers, EBC front rotors/pads, a full Yosh system, tuned, flashed, Progressive shock out back, Progressive springs and updated pistons and valves out front....it'd take a pretty well set up gen 3 to even turn my head.

The beautyfull Gen3 theres nothing like it in combination with a hot fun day!!!

Yes... Top speed runs, for a while they were boasting them as the fastest sedan in the world... Maybe still are ‍♂️. As much as I love Hellcats, they were far more useful as a hooligan toy that does burn outs for days and more doughnuts than dunkin.... And in 2015 when the Hellcat came out the both the gt500 made less hp zl1 made less hp than the Hellcat, and so did the Z06... So there's that... And all were still comparable to the Hellcat or faster in 1/4 mile.

Well, I can only speak for myself.... But out of the box... It's a tick quicker in the 1/4,top speed is moo, who doesn't want more power? Ergos for me are perfect... Wind protection???? Drive a car.... My only issue has been the QS on occasion.... How well does the QS work on the previous gens?

My QS is aftermarket and flawless.

Check out many of the Gen 3 threads, many owners are looking for bar risers, drop pegs, seats, taller windshields, more power (to be at least at a gen 2 level). I'm not making this stuff up just to be argumentive nor am I hating on the gen 3 in any way.

Maybe the brake issue and QS issue will be resolved on the next model?

I like the Hell Cat, I think Dodge hit that out of the park and stayed true to the original intent.

The GT500 and Camaro ZL1 are all on par now but it did take them a bit of time to catch up.

If I had $135K laying around I'd be in a TRX...

Well... I'm guessing aftermarket would not qualify as out of the box... Then gen 3 bars are higher than prev gens last time I checked... So maybe a little better than gen 2 or 1 if everyone wants higher bars... Drop pegs... I'm guessing the same... Seats windshields.... These are all just personal preference items to fit someone's needs.... It's also been proven hp level is just a # as the gen 3 with the torque is actually faster and if we're tuning both bikes your getting the same overall hp as the gen 2 once euro 5 crap is removed....

The only brake issue I have is stopping much better than the previous gen... QS issue... Again, tell me how your gen 2 oem QS is running???

Don't even get me started on the corning ability on the gen 3 compared to the previous gens... Like it or not it's a better bike than the predecessor....

I loved my hell kitty, out of the the 3 zl1 ZO6 and the kitty, the dodge is the only one I'd buy again.... But a 1/4 mile monster it wasn't unless your moving up to a redeye or better... Then your comparing 800hp to 650...for similar performance
