Hello fellow BASHERS, just thought i'd chip in my .02 for the upcoming big event. My last trip to the dragon cost me 1 totalled busa, plate and screws in leg and a messed up shoulder which will probably be bolted back into place. The sad part is i lost it coming off the cherahola and do not qualify for the tree of shame, and it was (lucky for me) a slow speed crash, nothing to brag about. Had new 05 busa within 3 weeks of crash but could not ride for 6 weeks. I know Jeremy has posted he will be there but the momma says neither can make the trip alone as i did in june so i have to come too. See me crying! Want to thank Warbaby for the help he gave me after my little get off, tell you more at tne meet, also 2 R1 forum riders went out of their way to help. Aren"t bikers great? (well most) Lets hope we as a group do not get the bad rap we got from BashIII. You all will have to baby this old man for a few days. We will be arriving at the phillips late thursday nite (have a good fire going) and plan on riding till at least noon sunday. Jeremy has a new toy and thinks he can lead vman across the dragon, don't encourage him please. He also got full leathers and the neighbors call him a power ranger. Btw, Warbaby, we somehow got a 3 bed room at the phillips and you are more than welcome to spend
saturday nite in the room rather than find another place to stay. Been watching area weather long range forecast and cooler weather is expected but rain is looming on the horizon lets cross our fingers. Looking foreward to seeing you and having a good (safe) (fast) time.[/QUOTE]
As GrandpaBusa mentioned, he got whacked hard a couple of months ago when he and I met at Fontana Village for a few days of spirited riding. You Bash vets may recall that Bill is a mature, well-skilled rider but there is no immunity for any of us. $hit happens. He was several hundred miles from home with a totally-crashed Busa, on crutches and
very sore, and he knew no one there except me. I was very concerned about him but he toughed it out, drove his car/trailer home, got medical attention (and a new Busa), and now, he's back in the saddle again...a testimonial to the spirit of a
true biker. I'm impressed!!!
It's great that you are coming Bill...! Thanks for the Saturday night offer (I might have to accept). I should have been a fly on the wall when your wife learned that you were coming back to the Dragon. I'll bet that was a premium moment.
See `ya there Brother Bill.
